  1. I have been recently having a lot of issues when shooting timelapses with my Sony A7Rii. In today's test I was using a Neewer intervalometer and my camera is set to Manual: all settings are set to manual (aperture, focus, iso, shutter speed). I then let the intervalometer shoot pictures at a 5 second interval. The lighting in the room hasn't changed at all and given that the camera settings were all set manually I should have received a series of very similarly looking images. If I am not missing something then nothing should have caused any changes in exposure in the images, yet the result is that randomly some of the images were dramatically underexposed, even though the settings according to the exif data are identical. I've attached a screenshot of the exposure line of all images in the series. The blue line should have been a smooth and almost straight line given that the settings were identical and the lighting in the room hasn't changed. I've also attached a screenshot of a part of the series from Bridge, showing that some of the images are randomly underexposed. And here is a link to two sequential RAW files out of the series (the files are currently still uploading to Dropbox). They show identical exif settings yet one is strongly underexposed (the images before and after were normally exposed again). Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong with my camera or settings? Much appreciated, Jan
  2. two 4k time-lapse clips done a few weeks back. A7R2 with Batis 85mm and Sony 28mm. Clip 1: Dubai Marina & JLT https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jiABqCrdsT0 Clip 2: Cape Town https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2tu4piFNM1A
  3. Hello, First time poster here. I'm struggling to find answers to a weird bug i have with the time-lapse app, and wondered if you all had any thoughts. Having set the app to create a movie, and with tracking set to mid, it almost always crashed about 20 shots in. Having changed settings, it seems i have fixed this by selecting AEL instead of the tracking mid setting. What might be causing this? All ideas welcome Jan PS I am using the Commlite EF-NEX and a Sigma 70-300. I am about to change lenses to see if this is part of the problem as have read elsewhere that the adaptor might be an issue.
  4. I did this timelapse with my SonyA6000 and Samyang 8mm FishEye. One of the best viewpoints of the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees. A little church called Pertussa situated in the Montsec's region (Catalonia, Spain). I hope you enjoy it! Credits are in catalan: "Posta de Sol" means Sunset in this language .
  5. Hi Sony Users, I'm new to this Forum and I've got a question concerning using the Timelapse app from Playmemories and Premiere CC. I have tons of timelapse videos that I made with my A7s, using the App but premiere doesn't accept the AVI format. Does anyone has a clue? Do I need to convert it to a specific format? Thanks in advance for your help. Florina
  6. Hey Sony Alpha community, I am planning a landscape timelapse project in British Columbia for this summer and I have a Sony Alpha 7S II. I know that all the good landscape photographers out there use the A7R II or a camera with similar resolution for landscape photography. In my case, though, I will export a 4K video file for which my 4240 × 2832 still image size of the A7S II should be enough. I will not print my photos in large formats like most landscape photographers. So my question is, how important is the resolution of my camera when shooting a 4K timelapse video? What is the difference in the final image quality when exporting a 4240 × 2832 (A7S II) image file in 4K compared to exporting a 7952 x 5304 (A7R II) image file in 4K? What really matters is the resolution of your export, or am I wrong? Of course I understand that using a A7S II over an A7R II will limit my ability to crop in the image while still keeping enough resolution. I hope you guys understand my problem and can help me. Cheers, Flo
  7. Looking for some advice or if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong. I recently switched from canon to sony a7rii and have been shooting with the zeiss 24-70 f/4. One issue that I've run into on a few ruined landscape timelapses is that somewhere after 10-100 photos the camera seems to readjust the focus and then the rest of my 100-500 images are out of focus slightly and soft for the rest of the duration. I typically shoot in aperture priority or manual depending on the time of day, but I have no idea what is going on from focusing and clicking start on my intervalometer to the when the images become unfocused. I haven't tried switching the focus to manual which I imagine will fix the issue, but if anyone else out there knows of a setting I need to change as well for timelapsing (perhaps image stabilization?) that would really help as I'm not used to such a sophisticated camera yet that may have other hidden settings to shut off.
  8. Hi all, I am wondering what are the specific options for shooting timelapses in HDR. I don't mind buying new hardware, mobile apps or using existing bracketing options in camera. What I like to achieve is programable timelapse, when each shot is shot in multiple exposures. My camera is Sony Alpha A7SII. Cheers for any input, JC
  9. This is a Sony A6300 with Sigma AF 24-105mm f/4 DG HSM Art Minolta A with Sony LA-EA3 A-Mount Adapter. As well as Blackmagic Production Camera 4K EF with Sigma AF 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Canon EF-S and Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM. The result is 10 minutes of peace and clouds. Except for the opening plan in the timelapse, everything else was in real time. After the post-production, it was accelerated.
  10. Is it possible to configure an automatic transfer of images? I'd like to have it such that every photograph taken by the camera is sent to the app on the computer. I'm currently setting up a time lapse with the syrp genie mini and I was wondering if it was possible to auto send the photo every time, so I can do higher res images.
  11. The project started in 2012 with my first experiments with timelapse techniques. At that time I was just beginning to look for ways to capture as much emotion as possible from the atmosphere of the city where I was born, through the visuals. After the 2nd video first showed in January 2014 and won several awards afterwards, I started working on a short film. In 2017, the main filming was completed, but due to circumstances, the project went into the archive. In 2018, a short video based on the draft version of the film was released. And now, three years later, the film has been completely remastered. And the author of the music, as originally intended, was the talented Russian composer Sergei Ivanov. The film was shot on Sony A6300, Sony A7s, Sony A77v, Sony A65, Konica-Minolta Z3, Blackmagic Production Camera 4K EF, Panasonic GH5 and Xiaomi Mi Drone 4K. You can listen to the composer's works herehttps://soundtree.bandcamp.com
  12. I would like to power the camera during a timelapse so that batteries don't run out. But when I plug a USB charge cable in to its charge port, the screen automatically goes to the USB file transfer mode, as if I was trying to connect it to a computer to pull off the photos. Is there a way to keep it operating in shoot mode while providing power via the charge port?
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnhlfhGCVJk&feature=youtu.be I been shooting several timelapse projects in 2018, The a7r3 is the perfect camera for timelapse and hyperlapse photography. I only miss the option to choose different resolutions when i shot in RAW. Here, my latest experiment, a hyperlapse around Las Vegas Boulevard, using the A7r3 with Laowa 15mm f2 and a 3 axis gimbal.
  14. https://woobox.com/yx7abb/gallery/Q4y9raDlf98 Hello everyone, I’m an amateur film maker who moved to Thailand a few months ago to teach science. The company I am with is hosting a video contest, and was the first chance for me to try out my new Sony a6300. I would love any tips, comments, or suggestions, as this is my first venture into the filming and editing process. Video is shot only using the kit lens, and a Hero6 for the POV shots. I would also IMMENSLY appreciate a vote on the website, which you can do every day! Doing so would allow me to bring a friend to visit as well as get a little cash to invest in a new lens! Thank you all, I look forward to your comments!

  18. Hello, I am wondering whether there is an app to control my Sony a 6000 with my iPhone. What I need: something like the smart remote control app from the playmemories app but with a built in intervalometer (like timelapse) I want to program the camera to take for example one photo every second, but I also need a live view and want to change settings like aperture, iso, shutter and so on. The smart remote control app only has a 2s and 10s timer and it will then only take 1 shot. I want it to take 1 shot every second for a certain period of time, without losing focus (with AF and face recognition ON). Thx for your help guys :)
  19. I did an experiment at Times Square in New York using my sony a7s2 with a very old canon 20-35mm lens I used the Moza Air 3 axis gimbal with an external intervalometer attached to the camera , impressed with the results!!
  20. Hi everybody, I have a Sony A7R and the other day I tried to shoot a timelapse with my 24-70 f4 (I normally use my Samyang 14mm) and I set everything manual. Buy after a while the lens went back to autofocus or something because some of the images turned out blurry (just some of them). Does anybody know why this could be and how to solve it?? I have tried to find a solution or a forum where this is discussed but I haven't found anything. Thank you very much in advance.

  23. I had the opportunity to spend a day and a night in Palo Duro Canyon last weekend. My goal was to get some photography in during the day then and hike the 3 mile trip (I am not an experienced hiker) to lighthouse around sunset. I wanted to do some night time photography and get a shot of the Milky Way near one of the rock cliffs there. That all went well until it was time to head back to my tent 3 miles away. I got a bit disoriented and had trouble finding my way off the mesa. In the pitch dark with only my flashlights I could not find the trail down the off the mesa. There mesa has shear drop edges most way around except for the trail down. I ended up finding a steep but doable slope and bush wacked my way down in the dark. Once down I still found myself in a dry river bed. Relieved to be back on flat ground and easy walking I decided to head north east on the river bottom hoping that it would lead me back to the main trail out. After about a hour of hiking the river bed I found the main trail and was able to get back to my tent just after midnight. I plan to post a series of photos over the next few days on my flickr account. I hope you enjoy the time lapse photos I put together here. Timelapse photos were shot with the sony a7rii using the cinetics axis pro 360 and a trigger trap. Music by us.audionetwork.com. Song "Big Hero"
  24. I made two videos The alternate version Camera used : Sony A7 for 90% of the footage. One scene is with D7000 Panning done in software. Motion blur and frame replication for smoothness done in avisynth using mvtools2
  25. Here you go! C&C welcome. Total shooting time was over 7 hours. I am making a longer timelapse, and this one is with the milky way sequences only. Full Sakartvelo timelapse will have one city sequence and 3-4 mountain cloud sequences.
