  1. Hi! I've given up. It's hopeless trying to Google my way out of this pickle. Every time I mention "bulb" the search just shows websites instructing you on how to turn it ON. And trust me, I've looked and tried to retrace my steps. I was out hiking last week. During this time I took a lat of photos and let the A6000 hang around my neck, as well as packed in a relatively big fanny pack. When I got home I realized that a bunch of the last photos I took were all smeared. That's when I notice the shutter speed expressed as 30" instead of the regular 1/600. I'm not all that technical when it boils down to hardcore camera science, but I love taking photos during these kind of adventures. And I love my camera. That's why I'm now reaching out to you guys. What's the problem? How do I "get back" to the regular display of shutter speed? In short, how the F do I switch of bulb mode? I recorded a short vid on my phone to demonstrate. It's not at all very detailed or thorough, but I hope it's enough. Thank you!
  2. I know I'm not the only one. I know that this forum is full of sony lover, I'm one too, so I put my hands ahead and beg you not to defend the a6300 at any cost. this is serious. I've had many cameras, which I treated very bad, being in my youth days a photographer of disasters like earthquakes and similar. this a6300 is my first mirrorless, my first sony, and the first camera I've ever treated as a fragile child, always keeping it clean and warm and safe. It also is the first camera to ever fail me. It happens that all of a sudden it stopped responding to any input but shooting pictures. at first solely every once and then, then it got worst and worst till the day it could only shoot pictures, not opening the menu, not changing aperture or shutter speed, no anything. I figured it out: it is the shutter button: for some reasons it remains "half pressed". I searched the web and found out that it is a COMMON ISSUE, which is not good at all. I want to add to this that that button seemed a little awkward to me since my first uses of the camera. I assumed it was my imagination at that time, and maybe it was. I don't want to point out any crafting failures or so, but - why the hell does it happen? - how do I fix it? I love my camera and don't want to change it - nor can I afford to, now that I think of it : ) with love, yours @ph_LDA
  3. Hey guys, was wondering if anyone can be of any assistance. Recently the enter button (center button of the wheel) has become stuck and I'm not sure why. At first it would seem to have gotten stuck to being in the cold, but now it's just completely stuck down and won't pop back up despite the rest of the wheel being functional. If you press really hard, it'll sometimes work but that doesn't help when I'm in the middle of a shoot and want to switch record speeds. Does anyone have any suggestions to rectify the problem? Btw, I've worked as a camera tech for a over 5 years. My initial thought was to disassemble the camera, remove and reset the button; which would probably solve the problem, but I don't have a service manual for this camera. I found the disassembly for the A7 and A7 II but they are different compared to the A7S in terms of disassembly. The folding LCD mechanism seems to be removed differently and I don't want to remove the flex cable without a sure way to reconnect it. Right now I think my other options would be to do the remote control thing with the camera; I'd have to read up on how that works since I haven't done much else other than update the firmware on the camera, or option number 2, send it in for repair; which I don't wanna do because I have shoots coming up. I do have a Mk3 as a backup camera but since I don't run ML, I prefer the footage from the A7S.
