  2. So I've just got the A6500 from Sony for making video. The 18-105 f4 has been perfect for all my filming so far but with winter coming I need to get some faster glass to get some more light in on these dark nights. Have some questions... If you put the Sony 35mm 1.8 with stabilisation on the A6500 with stabilisation do both stabilisers work or does one switch off the other? Is the f1.4 from sigma in real-world terms going to let much extra light in compared to the Sony f1.8? Does AF on the sigma work as good as on the Sony? Is the A6500 stabilsation enough if I went with the Sigma? Many thanks everyone, G

  6. Considering buying a Sony a6500 for street photography. Want to know if it is possible to manually focus the camera to a specific distance and have the camera remember that information so that if the camera goes into sleep mode it will still be set at the same distance when I go to take another photograph. Have tried to make this work when I was looking at the camera in the store ... but every time the camera wakes up from sleep mode the previous focusing distance is lost.. I rely on hyperfocal distance to shoot street..
  7. so i want to upgrade my 70-200 zoom lens with these three options: tamron 70-200 f2.8 sony e mount sigma 70-200 f2.8 sony e mount sony 70-200 f4 (f2.8 is out due to price) would be using it primarily for surfing photography & video, secondarily for landscapes etc. what would you guys recommend at this point, native lens & smaller aperture or offbrand & 2.8?
  8. So I've been wondering about this for a while now, which 70-200 lens to get for my a6500. i would use it primarily for surfing photography & video, then secondarily for landscapes etc. sony 70-200 f2.8 is out of the question at this time, as it is too expensive. so my dilemma is, do i get a sigma/tamron 2.8 or go for the better AF option but smaller aperture in the sony 70-200 f4? all three models are similarly priced so it's only down to the aperture at this point. thoughts?
  9. I have upgraded from the A6000 where I used back button focusing for over a year and definitely prefer it. Because the A6500 is relatively new I have been unable to find instructions for setting it up on my new A6500. Can anyone help?
