  1. Hey Folks, Last week I received the Samyang 85mm 1.4 and it is my first manual lens. I coupled it with my a6000. On the first day with the new lens I captured a great moment with my 9 month old daughter. Hope you enjoy this shot as much as I do 1/160, f1.4, camera mounted bounce flash I had to compress it for upload here, the original file looks much sharper (the eyes are in perfect focus).
  2. Hi, I'm willing to buy the Samyang 85mm F1.4 since I've read it's a wonderful lens, the only doubt I have about it is if I'll be able to easily and correctly focus my subject without AF. I know I'll get used to it after some time but I'd like to know if the camera (a Sony SLT A35) will help me by lighting up the focus indicator in the viewfinder. That would be enough help to start practice with MF, so if anyone have had any experience with the camera and a MF lens, please help me!
  3. Hi, new here. Posting some of my abstract work. I removed the colour from the image and added false colour in to suit the mood i was going for. I also mirrored the image in photoshop. My settings are as follows: Camera: a7 Lens: Samyang 85mm f/1.4 Shutter speed: 1/800 ISO: 100 Aperture: f/1.4 Check out my website at: http://www.synaestheticaphoto.com/ Any comments and questions are welcome
  4. I was wondering if there are any users with Samyang 14 2.8 AF who could share their opinions. I plan to use it with A7 II and A7r for wedding photography so im interested in 2.8 performance. I found some tests but most photos were taken at f7 to f11 and it was architecture. Thanks for any help.
  5. Hello there, I'm currently using the Sony A7III with Samyang AF 14mm f/2.8 FE. It might be a stupid question for you but whenever I am taking video with 'Face Detection in AF' on (AF-C mode, video format: 1080p, 50 fps), the face always has a grey frame on it. But it does not focus to it, I tried so many times but still did not make it happen. I tried focusing on other things, then moved to the face. The frame happened to appear again, but the focus point did not change a bit. I had to press the shutter to make it focus. Is it because of the non-native lens, or is it a problem of my A7III??? Thank you for your kind reply.
  6. Hello Community! I bought a Samyang 12mm f2 lens for my A6000 for landscape photography some months ago. I've been pretty satisfied so far but now as i want to get into star/milkyway photography i need your advice. made my first tries near my hometown. i know that there is some light pollution, but i want to get some experience before i go farther away. Can you tell me why the lights on the bottom of the photo are so distorted? Is this (normal) coma? do i have a bad copy or am i doin' something wrong? Original Picture https://flic.kr/p/BtrQWb Crop
