  1. I have an a7 with Sony VG-C1EM battery grip which worked great for about 6 months but now loses power angling the camera down or just bumping it when turned to portrait. I put tape on the back of the batteries to make them more snug but that made the cam not power up at all. Im not sure which of the 4 contacts are shifting during movement. When I return to using a single battery in the camera without the grip it has no issues whatsoever. I purchased the grip from Bestbuy about a year ago for $248 so I would like to get at least a few years out of it if not much longer. Any experience with this issue and any solutions that have been discovered? Greatly appreciate any help in advance
  2. I'm looking for a portable external power solution so I can shoot extended periods on my A7Sii. I've searched dummy battery power supplies - anyone know the reliability of these...? Andoer NP-FW50 Fully Decocded DC Coupler Dummy Battery Adapter Using a power supply like this that has DC output and can be strapped to a tripod: Ultra Edition ® 8000mAh Black coloured portable power bank Would this be a suitable solution? thanks
  3. Switching out fresh batteries isn't practical for streaming. Can I power the A7's using the USB charger port, or do I need to get one of those dummy batteries that are actually AC/DC power supplies?
  4. I tried using a dummy battery to power my A7ii for a variety of uses, but whenever I switch from my regular battery to the dummy battery and vice versa, I am prompted to set the date and time. I have 2 regular batteries and switching between them is completely normal. Dummy Battery: it asks for 5V 2A or more. I have tried my USB power bank, and my wall charger. both have the camera fully functioning, but both have it reset date and time. The USB power bank outputs 5V 3A, 9V 2A, or 15V 1.2A. the wall charger outputs 5V 3A or 9V 2A. Anyone have this issue or know what the problem might be? i have tried searching for others who have had this problem but i can only find 1 person in the reviews for this product who have experienced the same thing. would a 5V 2A charger maybe work better than the 5V 3A?
  5. So, I finally got tired of dealing with the horrid battery life on my a6500 and bought an external power adapter that uses a dummy battery and can be connected to an external battery or bank or wall adapter. The problem is, every time I insert it, my camera resets and I have to go through the whole date and time setup over again. After which my camera works just fine, as long as I don't remove the adapter. If I remove it and reinsert it, I have to go through the date and time setup all over. This makes no sense to me. Why is it doing this?
