  1. Hey guys, so recently I've been noticing a glitch in the video footage I take with my a7ii that usually occurs approximately once for every 5 minutes of video. Here is a sample of what it looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRWsAvMqkeE&feature=youtu.be I've been recording with XAVC S @ 60p 50M. The SD I use is a Sony 64GB SDXC 94MB/s U3 Class 10. I wouldn't expect this to change anything, but I am using the 50mm Rokinon 1.4 lens. Any ideas on what this could be? It is extremely frustrating, especially when I take longer videos for timelapses :/ Any help or advice you can offer would be amazing!
  2. Does this happen to anyone else shooting the A7R2? New camera, any video setting over 60mbs causes this glitch. Please advise.
  3. Hi there, not sure what terms to search for, almost all of my searches are giving me results regarding the lens motor. My a5k which has seen light use over the years has developed an issue with the zoom in/out rocker which sits around the 'snap picture' button. Sorry, I'm a layman and don't know what the correct terms are for these things. When previewing an image, if I flick the rocker to the right, it zooms into the picture all the way. Now I have to start backing out to see what I want to see. As I flick or hold the rocker to the left (marked W on the camera body), the preview starts to zoom out but then will glitch out and zoom back in and out and in and out and it will get 'stuck' in this pattern until it eventually, jerkingly, zooms all the way out of the preview. This behavior occurs when using the rocker to zoom out the lens, but if I use the zoom control on the lens itself, it works fine, so I know its an issue with the rocker which sits around the 'take pic' button. Has anyone experienced this before? Can you suggest some better search terms? I usually repair my own gadgets and wouldn't mind taking this one on, just not sure where to start. Seems like I'd need to purchase a donor camera to get the parts off of. Thoughts appreciated, thanks.
  4. Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and hoping you guys can help me out.. I have a Sony a6300 and mainly shoot video (bought in Jan '17) Recently I have been experiencing PINK/PURPLE glitches when shooting 4k - rolling for about 10mins intermittently before it happens. looks like this > https://ibb.co/fr1LBG Any ideas? I thought overheating was the issue.. but no one mentions the same pink screen.. Cheers Dave
  5. Yesterday I was putting my A7r2 together with my Metabones IV adaptor and a Canon 24-105mm. I had updated the firmware on both to the latest official releases the week before. (body version 1.1 and adaptor version 44) When I turned the lens to manual focus... by some miracle, it auto-magnified to help me focus, just as it is supposed to do with Sony lenses (I assume, because I don't have those lenses). Anyway, it must have been a glitch, because after playing around with this new feature, and loving it... I decided to switch lenses... and it went away completely! I have not seen this come back, but I suspect it was some combination of turning on the camera and putting the lenses/adaptor on that fooled the electronics into thinking it was a Sony lens. The point is, that it is possible to do this, just a software update... the Canon lens will pass the manual focus information through the adaptor to the body to let it know when I'm focusing. I wish it was enabled on non-Sony lenses, it's a great feature that helps you get perfectly manual-focused shots quickly.
