  1. https://vimeo.com/190419876 - Every once in a while you get the call to go outside your comfort zone. Answer the call. Déjà Mae and I have shot quite a few photos together but recently she asked me to shoot a video for the next song on her recently released album “Sloan” I was totally into creating something magical except there was one major obstacle… She asked if I could shoot it underwater??? Underwater cinematography is not my forte but being pushed out of your comfort zone is where creativity lives and it’s been a while since someone asked me how long I could hold my breath. For this particular project I chose the Sony A6300. It’s small shoots 4k and 120 fps at 1080p which helps slow down the erratic motion of swimming. The water housings are more economical and the dynamic range is pretty damn close to the high end Sony. The down side, it overheats like a mofo. Even in water which makes for longer breaks in between takes. I used the Meikon underwater case for a few reasons. It’s easier to open quickly to dissipate heat and cheaper since Sony keeps releasing A6000 model cameras (3 models in the last year A6000, A6300, A6500) which most of the underwater housings are incompatible from body to body, also you can adjust zoom, focus, shutter and aperture all underwater. I hate the flat light of shooting underwater so I came up with a bit of an interesting solution to provide key and fill light underwater. I took a couple of c- stands and positioned a gold fill card to reflect the sun where I wanted. So the gold fleck highlights in the water are from that. Cheap and simple continuous light sources don’t have to be expensive. Just take note of the sun’s path and adjust accordingly. If you are still reading this, I appreciate it because sometimes people don’t quite understand what goes in to making a shot but there’s a lot going on. Thanks Deja for trusting me with your vision and inspiring me to get weird. Do yourself a favor and check out her new album and her full-length video coming soon.
  2. Hello friends! I suggest to look at one of my works filmed in 2013 with the Sony A77v and Sony A65 cameras. To shoot the movie at the confidential scientific enterprise of NIIFI in the city of Penza, Russia. This enterprise makes sensors for the space industry. Their products are used including in the international space station (ISS). https://youtu.be/2pWSq9WTJhk Thank you for watching! There is a lot more interesting filmed with cameras by Sony soon
  3. Hello everybody! I just uploaded this travel video primarily using the Sony A7RII! I would love for you to check it out and give feedback! Good day! https://youtu.be/GWYUYpmwXy8 <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/GWYUYpmwXy8?rel=0" frameborder="0" gesture="media" allow="encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  4. Hey guys! Hope everyone is staying safe. I thought I'd share this from a trip to India! Let me know your thoughts and enjoy! Sony A7III - INDIA
  5. Hi All, I just bought an A7 MK1, and I'm pretty upset that I didn't know about the S-Log thing until it was too late. -- That said, do you have any suggestions for achieving film-style color from my shoots? And if the only thing I can do is go 'neutral' with profile, then what should I do in post, exactly (FYI: I use Sony Vegas)? Sorry for sounding noob. I bought the A7 because of its lens interchangeability and portability. I hadn't realized it was lacking something most other modern cameras seem to have by default. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! -JC
  6. This film was mostly shot on the A6500. Maui is an amazing place and this was our first visit. Thanks for watching!
  7. Hi everyone, Have a look at this film I released several months ago, shot with the amazing A7RII. Best, Luke
  8. Hey guys I got sick of Sony’s colour and so made some LUTs for S Log 2 that I’m convinced give the closest to film colour I’ve seen for a Sony camera. Take a look here: https://vimeo.com/274040173 If you’d like to purchase, you can do so at: joelfamularo.com/colour
  9. I have a Sony A7S with speedbooster Ultra E-EF to use my canonlenses for filming. I want to auto-exposure while filming because lighting conditions change while filming. But is this possible? When I choose auto-iso there is no adaption to the lightsituation at all. Auto F or Auto S is not an option.
  10. Hi, I just published a guide on how to add metadata to your images in Lightroom using a donation-ware plugin: LensTagger*. LensTagger, or: how to add metadata to images shot with legacy glass and/or on film Using the plugin itself is quite straightforward, the only pain is having to go through several Lightroom menus every time. But I've got a solution for that as well, at least if you're on a Mac. I wrote an Automator service that will let you invoke LensTagger with a simple shortcut of your own choice. For the details please read the blog post (it's straightforward, but you will have to follow the instructions). I don't have a standard Lightroom installation (i.e. my Lightroom app is not in the usual "Application" folder root), so I wasn't able to supply a ready-made file, but like I said is really a matter of copying and pasting & following my guide. And if you like the LensTagger plugin please remember to offer the guy who developed it (Dirk Essl) at least a beer *You can download the plugin at http://www.essl.de/wp/software/lenstagger-lightroom-plugin/
