  1. Hey folks, I've made a post like this before, but I wanted to do another one regarding my latest trip to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA here in my hometown. I volunteer my photography there because I believe that higher quality images could definitely lead to a greater adoption rate and so far I've been proved correct. I hope these images inspire you to maybe get out there and do some good with your respective cameras! Not that every picture we take isn't doing good, but our images can change lives, be they persons or pets. I've attached a couple of my favourite images from the shoot, but you can view the full gallery and write up on my website by clicking below: Volunteering at the SPCA Here are a couple of my faves from the shoot. All images shot on the Sony A7R II with the 55mm 1.8 Sony/Zeiss Lens
  2. I once again shot with Mackenzie, one of my favourite persons to shoot, however this time it was without the assistance of studio lighting equipment. She (and her adorable cat Cleo) is the latest subject in my Home Invasion series. Full Gallery at link below: http://www.kyleandrew.com/home-invasion-mackenzie/

  4. Dear all, I hope someone can help me with an issue I have with my Sony Alpha 7. This camera is attached to a microscope to make images and videos from surgeries. For courses we transmit these images directly to our conference room (which is 30-35meter away from the surgery room) and we used therefore HDMI extender. These worked perfect with other cameras. With the Alpha the images are not transmitting. When I plug in a HDMI immediately into a screen, it works perfect. When I try the same thing using HDMI extenders, not a single images is coming through. see attached drawing. Would this be an issue with the camera? Other something else? Thanks in advance for your thoughts! It would help me a lot! Kind Regards

  7. hey guys- I thought I'd share this picture of my cat, Avery. See attached or the link below to the full res on my Flickr site. I check out SAR.com frequently and think that this has a shot to get into the Readers Photo Section for this week. https://www.flickr.com/photos/130214403@N03/21855141041/in/dateposted-family/lightbox/ I'm an amateur/hobbyist/enthusiast who started off with an NEX3-N over a year ago and made the jump to an A7 a few weeks ago. I'm open to comments and or critiques on any of my shots! -Andrew
  8. 500px Flickr Using my cooperative-by-meal-placement calico, I was able to test out how well my di700a would work with my new Yongnuo YN560 IV as a slave. It's a pretty good wireless setup. I'm using the Nissin Air Commander to trigger the di700a wirelessly. Then I have the Yongnuo set to slave mode and is triggered by the di700a's flash. The only issue I noticed involves using high speed sync. The di700 will trigger the Yongnuo in HSS mode if both flashes are set at full power. It seems if I decrease the power on the Yongnuo at all, it no longer fires on time and doesn't show up in photos. I haven't played around with it too much though, so maybe I'm just missing something.
  9. I guess you could call this urban wildlife. I was walking along and I ran into this poor, dirty black cat that was completely unafraid of approaching me. Shot with Sony A7II and 55mm f/1.8 wide open.
  10. I captured this fella when he was hunting for some mice. Thought to be invisible. After he realized that I saw him he gave me this "I don't care about you look". Sony A65, 300mm, 1/400, f/5.6, ISO 400
