  1. I've been having problems with the clarity/ quality of the pictures that my a6000 produces. The pictures that the camera takes doesn't appear to me to be of high quality, not very clear/ sharp. In fact the pictures often look worse than those taken by my Samsung galaxy S6. To test the camera I initialised it, resetting it back to its factory setting. I then used a tripod and the playmemories control function in the app so act as a remote shutter, to completely eliminate camera shake. I used the auto mode to take some test pics but the quality of the pictures did not impore. The pictures were saved automatically onto my phone in 'original size' via the playmemories app, where I uploaded them to flicker via the flicker app. Please can you take a look at this image and it stats and let me know, all things given, if the imagine should be of better quality for this camera. https://flic.kr/p/R1FbnQ Also I'm using the kit lense.
  2. Hi, I'm middle of nowhere in Philippines and my reliable Sony FE 24-240 f3.5-6.4 broke down. Apparently the aperture motor broke down. The problems are: - Camera body (Sony A7sII) does not show aperture (only briefly it comes up to show aperture number and disappears again) - No control of aperture in camera - Aperture stuck in smallest (~f36) - Strange ticking sound inside the lens when attached to body - Focusing works semiok. Probably the camera has problems with lowlight since the aperture is locked at minimum diameter). I have tried: - I have cleaned the contacts - No physical damage can be seen in the lens Other lenses work fine with the body (Sony FE 55 f.18) so the problem must be in lens. Have you guys experienced similar problems with Sony FE lenses??? Anyway to fix it on your own? I either have no time to sit in a major city for several weeks waiting for it to get fixed by Sony Service center.... if that's not the only choice. I'm really desperate since I'm on my once in lifetime around the world trip. Thanks guys.
  3. I'm an praying that I am just an idiot and have some settings wrong but my LCD display on my a7rii is useless when it comes to reviewing photos. When shooting and reviewing images they look blow out, color looks horrendous and frankly overall looks like complete dogsh!t. Am I doing something wrong or does this $3,500 camera body seriously have a crap LCD display? For clarity, the EVF displays a great image while shooting and in playback. Im wondering if I have a bunk unit or the LCD display just sucks. Any feedback is MUCH appreciated! Thank you forum!
  4. I have been very satified with the functions of the Nissin Di700A and AIR commander. I wrote about it in October here on SAR: http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/guest-post-by-dierk-topp-the-new-nissin-di700a-air-1-wireless-ttl-flash-for-sony/ I use it with different setups like umbrellas and diffusers. Yesterday I noticed, that the flash was hanging down from the tripod, only fixed by the cable of the PS8 power pack. The diffuser has been mounted for a while as you see on the first image. The wheight of it is about 160 gr. very light! Is the Di700A only for amateur use??
  5. Camera worked in the airport, and then when I arrived it stopped. Whenever I turn it on the image preview briefly flickers, followed by a blueish screen, followed by black. The cycle repeats until I take the battery out, turning it off doesn't even work. There's no camera shops on the island, anyone know how to fix it?
  6. I've had my A6000 for a couple of years. I treat it pretty gently - it hasn't been dropped or anything like that. Lately I'm noticing that when I am trying to use it, the mode changes without my turning the mode knob, and occasionally when I press down, the autofocus doesn't engage. Is this a hardware thing? If it is, is it fixable? I could try sending it in for repairs but it doesn't always do it, which may make it hard to troubleshoot. What's the best strategy here?
  7. Hi everybody, I left my lens uncapped, mounted on my A6300 during sunset, pointed at a window. Next morning 2 serious things happened. 1. The 18-105 PZ lens wouldn't initiate completely. I checked it on another Sony camera and the lens is fine. 2. Live view is OK, so is video recording but when I take a still image, this is what the camera records. Sunset didn't last that long, there's a building blocking it for most of the time. It wasn't super hot inside, etc..
