  1. This is barely better than the original A7s - any frame rate improvements (120 fps) include a 2.2x crop factor and the camera can't output any frame rates higher than 60fps for recording via HDMI anyway. Any reasons to keep this thing? I love the stabilizer, but I'd rather have it on the A7R2, are there any advantages to the S2 other than iso?
  2. Hi Everyone, I've had my A7rii for a few years now and I love it! But recently, the Fn, center, playback, and d-pad buttons have stopped working. The scroll wheel around the center button also doesn't work. The camera has 200,000 or so shots on it (mostly from the previous owner) but the body has worked flawlessly for a few years. I sent the camera to a local retired camera tech, but he wasn't able to fix it because "Sony cameras are hard to fix unless you're a certified technician." I know he replaced some parts but I'm not sure which ones exactly. This topic has been posted about a few times now, but no forum seems to have a real solution on it. Mostly just "I sent it in to Sony and it was magically fixed." I have the tools and patience to tear into this thing to fix it, but I don't know what to try next. Has anyone come across a part (or parts) that fixes this issue? Or is it true that Sony is really the only one who can fix it? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks
  3. Is there a way to make the oversaturated color in my evf and LCD look more 'normal'? It's way, way too warm/red
  4. Hi I have a very strange problem with sound on a7s2 If I record video (in all formats) in playback on the camera almost cant here the sound, but if I put headphones – sound is ok More strange – if I open footages on computer – everything is ok, but if I open footages on the timeline in Premiere – the sound is very low, almost unhearable, ( timeline settings – DNx) If I put timeline settings to dslr 1080 – sound is ok, but after the export (tried in all formats) if I upload footage to the Facebook or Instagram – no sound on smartphones (both android and Iphones), but with headphones everything is ok. On the computers everything works. The same in Davinchi Resolve – on the timeline everything is ok, but after the export in FB or Instagram – no sound on smartphones (only with headphones) I’ve tried to render the footages in different formats, even only sound in mp3, wav, then put back on premiere timeline - after the export – the same in FB and Instagram More strange – even if I use screen recorder and record that footage and after that put it on the premiere timeline and make export – the same – no sound on smartphones in FB and Instagram (sound only with headphones)
  5. I did an experiment at Times Square in New York using my sony a7s2 with a very old canon 20-35mm lens I used the Moza Air 3 axis gimbal with an external intervalometer attached to the camera , impressed with the results!!
  6. Hello, I was just wondering if anyone else had an issue shooting 4k and out putting to monitor then having the image on camera going black. I unplugged the monitor and it worked fine. The really odd thing is that I was shooting for while before this problem started happening. I spoke to another camera operator using the A7s II and they said they had the same problem. Any info on this issue would be wonderful. Thank you
  7. This weekend I had the opportunity to use the A7S Mark II in combination with the Sony Zeiss FE 24-70 F4. I took the chance and visited the local christmas market! I did a 4k video and some pictures. Low light capability and 4k quality are really good! (and yes, I need a stabilizer *g*) Take a look if you like! Blogpost with my Video Cheers Tom
