  1. Got my new a7iv yesterday and noticed no option to do this (that I could find). It was a very useful feature that I used often with my a7iii. Is there any known workaround other than connecting via HDMI or shuffling SD cards? Am I missing some configuration option to enable this feature or does it not exist?
  2. Any ideas? Brand new A74 that has less than 100 shutters on it and no video yet. I have a video showing it as well but file size was too large to attach.
  3. When a7IV comes out, what price would the a7III and a7II be?
  4. I recently bought an A7IV and I'm looking for a zoom lens that hits hits around 300mm. I shoot a lot of indoor events where the stage is well lit. I was using a company camera (Canon) with a 75-300mm f4-5.6 Canon lens for a while and the 250-300mm range was really perfect for my farthest shots. Trying to find something similar that fits my Sony setup has been a struggle. Initially, I was looking at the Sony FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G, but I wasn't really excited about the quality, etc. So then I was just going to bite the bullet and go with the new Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS II, but I just think I'm really going to be missing that extra 100mm. I was also considering buying the 100-400mm, but I shoot near and far in these events so being able to pull out to 70mm quickly is a necessity. I don't really have time to swap lenses in these instances. I'm not really sure if the Tamron 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD is the quality I'm looking for, plus the f6.3 could make things a bit harder indoors. I am fairly new to having my own gear, so I'm just wondering if there's anything I'm overlooking or if anyone can speak of a lens in a similar range to the 70-300mm that they've been happy with (professionally). I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
  5. Here's the situation: I do a lot of hiking, backpacking and traveling with my partner. I tried carrying a few different point and shoot cameras but couldn't stand them. I tried carrying my old DSLRs but they were too big/heavy/obtrusive with the large body and heavy zoom lenses. So while to fall back to my iPhone 11 Pro I simultaneously took the totally logical step of pre-ordering a Sony A7 IV, which arrived last week. Now, instead of a 28-75, 24-105, or 16-35 I'm seriously considering just two primes: a 24 and a 50. Specifically the new Sony lenses that came out this year (SEL24F28G and SEL50F25G). Would I be crazy to go with two primes for hiking/backpacking/travel as opposed to a 28-75 (Sony) or 24-70 (Sigma)? Maybe I'd need to add an 85mm. When I shoot with my iPhone I don't pinch around, it's either wide open, 1x or 2x, so I feel like I would not miss the in-between lengths. Please halp me decide!
  6. Hey! I testet my brothers RØDE Videomic GO with my new A7 IV and theres a crackling noise very apparent most of the time: https://youtu.be/9n387TyUrHQ It doesnt happen with his Canon 80D. I dont have any other 3,5mm mics to test, but it seems like it has to do something with the camera, because it just works fine with his. Has this happened to any of you?
  7. Hi guys, has anyone managed to connect the A7iv to an android phone for remote still shooting? Connection via bluetooth was successfully paired but the app keeps saying cannot connect to camera, despite it is connected.
  8. So after firmware update 2.00 I noticed that while tethering to Capture One 23 my camera doesn't output RAW files. I don't shoot jpeg. Both the camera and Capture one show the settings set to RAW. Something is happening during file transfer. There is nothing wrong with Capture One as my second Sony camera A7riii has no problem transferring out RAW's. Please let me know if you know how to fix it. Thank you
  9. Hey! I’m new to full format and “more professional” amateur photography (so far only with my phone and at a few occasions with my brother’s 80d and a6400) so I’m a full noob. I just got a 7 IV a week ago and recognised some things that I would love to be clarified. Please don’t bash me, I don’t know anything about the camera yet, at least not a lot. 1. Are there different versions of the A7IV being sold? (Except for Kits with lenses) 2. It does make some noise when it’s on, but you only really hear it when you’re close or when it’s placed on a table for example. It’s probably normal, but is it? 3. The shutter does have a little mark on it, is it normal? It’s a very fragile part so I’m a little worried. Here a picture: https://imgur.com/a/D87cynI 4. When I use the screen on the back and want to switch back to the viewfinder I need to press the shutter release half way before. (When the screen is tilted and away from the body, not when its showing towards the user while being clipped into the body) It then makes a noise, a bit like when you switch between screen and viewfinder on a dslr (mirrored). I’m not talking about the focus motor noise, there’s another noise coming from the camera (https://imgur.com/a/aRxnhpV) Why? Maybe the in body image stabilisation ? 5. The pictures often don’t feel sharp. I know it’s a lot about the lens I’m using: it’s the very cheap 50mm 1.8 from Sony. Is the lens the reason? I also have the kit lens 28-70 3,5-5,6. Does someone have any example images so I can compare them to the quality of mine? 6. The sd card compartment’s lock moves a little when i grab the camera out of the pocket, it moves quite a bit in opening direction (video: https://imgur.com/a/iKFn77C) is that normal? Especially because of water and dust resistance. Thanks a lot for your time!
