  1. Using my BRK (C) 0.5-EV-3 setting yields only two shutter fires. The third can only be achieved by holding down the shutter, usually during a long exposure. I know other A7II owners are facing this issue. Thoughts? Fixes?
  2. Hello everyone, About ten days ago I was at Samothraki, a beautifully wild and peacefull island in northern Greece. I am sharing a few of the pictures I took during my short stay there, I will probably upload more on my website soon. Camera: Sony A7II Lens: Minolta AF 50mm 1.4 (w/ LA-EA4) Location: Samothraki, Greece You can follow my page on Facebook: facebook.com/ilias.antoniou.grnd
  3. So I tested my two Konica ƒ14 standards. 50mm ƒ1.4 -- one of the worst hot spot issues I have seen. All the way open to ƒ4 before it went away. 57mm ƒ1.4 -- fantastic with no not spot at any aperture. If you are buying a standard I Konica the 50mm is overall a better lens in terms of sharpness. So if you are only shooting normal and no IR it would be my choice, though the bokeh of the 57mm is better. If your primary interest is IR then the 57mm is the obvious choice.
  4. The last couple of weeks or even months i have been shooting so much with the MC11 adapter. A lot of people asked me how good is the AF-C and Lock on AF. Well, to answer this i went to a medieval festival called "Ritterfest" in Linz, Austria and there i tested both lenses the Sigma 24mm 1.4 and the Canon 70-200 F4 L on my Sony A7II. Also made some additional tests. Grab some popcorn and beer and enjoy the video! http://www.dsphotoblog.com/?p=2267
  5. For the last weeks i have been shooting a lot with the new Sigma MC11 Adapter. Here are my latest results using the Sigma 24mm 1.4 ART + Sony A7II! http://www.dsphotoblog.com/?p=1925
  6. In my latest blogpost i want to show you all of my results from yesterday using the Sony A7II + Canon 70-200 F4 L + Sigma MC11 Adapter with AF-C in a zoo. It´s more a show the results post, a full post with video is coming soon, in the meanwhile please enjoy these wonderful animals! http://www.dsphotoblog.com/?p=1884 ‪#‎photography‬ ‪
  7. Lots of testing, but finally here is my full experience and rating for the Sigma MC11 Adapter :-) Get some chips and beer and take a look at my Video Review and blogpost where i have tested the Sigma 24mm 1.4, Canon 70-200 F4 L with 2x extender, Sigma 150-600 Sports, Tamron SP 90mm 2.8, Tamron SP 85mm 1.8! http://www.dsphotoblog.com/?p=1769
  8. Hey there everyone, I'm currently in the market looking for a great macro lens. The new FE 50mm F2,8 Macro looks promising but seems to be veeery slow in terms of af. And I unfortunately haven't seen any test images, yet. I'm curious if anyone out there is already shooting a great (lens(+adapter)+body) combo for macros with their A7II. Cheers, zʇɹɯ

  10. For my latest blogpost i have returned to beautiful Czech Republic, this time visiting the old, medieval & enchanting Crumlaw + a boat trip to Lipno. All photos shot with the Sony A7II + Canon 70-200 F4 L + Sigma 24mm 1.4 on the MC11 Adapter. Get some chips & czech beer and have a look! http://www.dsphotoblog.com/?p=2484
  11. Hey guys, so recently I've been noticing a glitch in the video footage I take with my a7ii that usually occurs approximately once for every 5 minutes of video. Here is a sample of what it looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRWsAvMqkeE&feature=youtu.be I've been recording with XAVC S @ 60p 50M. The SD I use is a Sony 64GB SDXC 94MB/s U3 Class 10. I wouldn't expect this to change anything, but I am using the 50mm Rokinon 1.4 lens. Any ideas on what this could be? It is extremely frustrating, especially when I take longer videos for timelapses :/ Any help or advice you can offer would be amazing!
  12. Just a few Head shots. Let me know what you all think.
  13. Added a testvideo to my Canon 70-200 F4 L Review in which i´m showing you how good the 5 Axis Inbody stabilisation of the Sony A7II is working with this lens at 200mm focal length. I was surprised how good the result is on my A7II for video and even Elvis showed up :-) have a look! All shot handheld http://www.dsphotoblog.com/?p=736 ‪
  14. Hi there, I'm new here! I've seen the A7Rii vs A7Riii post and I wanted to know, should I wait for the A7iii? Will it be available soon? I'm transition from Crop Canon to Full Frame Sony, so the change would be great anyways, but I would be really pissed if I dropped 2k in a camera just so the newer version shows off right away. I've chosen the A7ii as my go to camera because of my budget and needs. I couldn't find any rumors on the A7iii so that kind of keeps me guessing when it will be in the market! Thanks for help!
  15. I recently came into a package deal and I'm wondering if its a good deal or not. Its a newer Sony A7ii along with kit lens, Zeiss 24-70 f/4, Sony 70-200 f/4, and a Rokinon e-mount 14mm f/2.8. All equipment is lightly used, seller has switched to Fuji. Price for package $3000 Thoughts??
  16. Hi guys, I wanna hear some feedback from the person who has the a7ii and use the tamron 150-600 (through the la-ea3 adapter) that the tracking ability is good enough to take the photo of the bird in flight and also the taking-off aircraft? I have 2 choices right now between this tammy and the sony 70-400 g2 I had a chance to try the 70-400 and it was brilliant when pair with my camera (a7ii) through la-ea3 but I can't find tammy a mount lens to try out in my country so I wanna hear some opnion from the real world users before considering to order the 150-600 (since tammy is 50% cheaper than the 70-400) Thanks everyone in advance
  17. Picked up an A7ii back in November and am only now getting around to editing the first few days worth of shooting I did with it. To my horror, I discovered some pretty bad banding/posterization effects. Here's a night shot: https://www.flickr.com/photos/bryanscott/24197544876 And a day shot: https://www.flickr.com/photos/bryanscott/23576052584 Seeing this banding was like stepping into a time machine back to my early digital days before I understood the benefits of RAW files. Now, these were taken with the camera before I updated to the new firmware, so the RAW files were of the old-school compressed variety. I have not yet examined my shots taken after I updated the firmware. Can anyone comment on the improvement (or lack thereof) they've seen in image quality since the firmware update? In particular, I'd like to know how the update has effected these banding issues.
  18. So recently , I traveled to middle of Vietnam , Diep Son island. It is a very beautiful island with the hidden undersea path that you can walk. If you to know more information, google is the best I took with me my A7II and 28F2 , all of the photos are edited in Lightroom , with VSCO film filters Please enjoy Diep Son by Thuan Ta, trên Flickr road on the sea by Thuan Ta, trên Flickr Diep Son Island by Thuan Ta, trên Flickr reflection of life by Thuan Ta, trên Flickr Diep Son by Thuan Ta, trên Flickr Diep Son by Thuan Ta, trên Flickr frame in frame by Thuan Ta, trên Flickr love by Thuan Ta, trên Flickr
  19. Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has been able to test out the new Nissin Air R (receiver). I got one for Canon with the intention of pairing my Canon 430EX II with the Air 1 Commander on my Sony A7ii. I went through the pairing process and it worked, but when I shoot, I only get a flash every 2-3 shots. Does anyone have ideas as to why this is happening? Would it be because you can't mix and match Air Commanders and Air R's from different brands? I may test it out using a strobe with a sync cable and see if it fires on every shot. Thanks!
  20. Was looking to get the A7ii then noticed the price drop and talk of A7iii on the horizon. Smart to wait?
