  1. Is there a way, or a setting I'm missing that will make the the focus distance when manual focusing, stay constant after a power cycle? I know this seems like a fussy issue to most, but when you do complex still like setups that require multiple exposures that need to be in perfect register for compositing in post, it can be a major issue. Ideas? I cant find anything online about this.
  2. Bali Indonesia by Daan Wagner, on Flickr No crazy sky but still nice place to visit at Bali. We had fun Used the a7RII + 16-35 and the Lee little stopper & Lee Landscape cpl.
  3. My a7RII is in the repair shop (will post on that debacle later), and I needed a Sony body with the five-axis stabilization for a video shoot this weekend. I was going to get the a7SII eventually as a second body for weddings and etc, so just moved up the timeframe and got one yesterday. I'm pretty familiar with the workings of the a7RII, having had it since November. The a7SII, aside from the different capabilities, seems operationally almost identical. Are there any specific pitfalls that I need to watch out for? In short, are there any operations or settings on the a7SII that LOOK identical to the settings on the a7RII, but which are actually quite different? Many thanks for all help.
  4. I got an a7RII in November, and a Sony FE4/70-200 G OSS in December, both new from B&H. About a month after I got the lens, it started acting up. I'd turn it on, and it would make clicking noises, and with each noise it would switch from showing the F-number on the display to showing just two dashes, and it would not focus at all. Later on, the lens would work properly. Often, but not always, the malfunction was associated with cooler weather, between 35 and 55 degrees F. I'm not sure if the condition is the fault of the camera or the lens. I managed to get video of the condition when it happens. The lens was sent to Precision Camera under warranty. (Unfortunately, it's been more than 30 days, or I would have tried to send it back to B&H for an exchange.) The lens came back with the vague statement, "repaired lens, cleaned, returned to factory specs." It still doesn't work right. The weird thing is that the malfunction occurs ONLY with this camera and lens combination. The lens functions properly (so far) on my FS700, and with the a7RII, all other lenses function perfectly. Also, I'm afraid that if I send the combination in for repair, because it is intermittent the condition won't happen for the technician. Has anyone else experienced such problems with this camera/lens combination?
