  1. Using an a6500 with an 18-105G zoom (with lens firmware version 0.4) and just noticed that in a very small number of jpegs (26 out of 569), the lens info in the EXIF data is incorrect. Here is what it looks like when it's wrong [A6K01083.JPG]: But in the vast majority of cases this info is correct and looks like [A6K01140.JPG]: I'm using exiftool version 10.8 https://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/ to extract this info and it's correct in all but 26 out of 569 JPG. Has anyone run into this and know why this might happen? The JPG themselves look fine (this lens has a lot of uncorrected pin cushion distortion which is corrected in-camera with a lens profile, so I think the camera knows which lens is being used).
  2. I recently got myself the 18-105 G master lens for my A7s ii. For documentaries it will do so well. HOWEVER. I do have one major issue with it. I film everything in 4k. The lenses I've been using are not Full Frame lenses. My workaround has been ‘Zoom Setting: ‘On: ClearImage Zoom’’ This allows me to punch in just enough to crop out the vignette. This lets me use any lenses I want and still film in 4K. How to enable this option: The 18-105 disables this option sadly. And now I’m left with this horrible vignetting. It does however add this feature to itself which I find VERY odd. Once you zoom in to the 105mm mark, it then uses the Clear Image zoom. I want the reverse. Clear image zoom at x1.4 and then the Lens. Is there a way to fix this or am I stuck with this?
