Is it just me or is anyone else really annoyed by the flashing "steady shot" icon in the monitor and finder of the A7Rii. I don't need that warning. I'm experienced enough to know what I can hand-hold and what I can not. I have steady shot turned on. What's worse, is that is flashes over the image itself. I could probably live with it if it was displayed on the edge. It flashes away distracting the composition. It keeps on flashing even if I select the "no info" display option. "No info" means "no info": nada, nothing, zip, empty, image only - it does not mean "no info but we still insist on flashing the steady shot icon". Please, please, please Sony, give us a menu option to turn off that flashing warning. PLEASE! Regards Peter

Is it just me or does that flashing steady shot indicator on the monitor / finder drive everyone nuts? I wouldn't mind too much if it was displayed right on the edge of the screen but it intrudes over the main image area, sometimes onto the forehead of a person in the image. I get why an inexperienced photographer might need such a warning but, all my photo life I've known to look at the shutter speed to see if handheld is doable. I know what shutter speed / focal length I can handhold. I don't need that warning, ever. Is there anyway of getting rid of it? I guess we can just hope that, one day, Sony puts a flag in the firmware: Steady Shot warning On/Off. Next A7Rii firmware upgrade. PLEASE! Regards Peter

This firmware was released 11 Dec 2017 but could not be installed if your computer was a Mac running OS Sierra 10.13. They have since worked around this Apple generated issue. The firmware update is very complex involving two downloads and performing steps in a very specific order. But it works. Here is a link to the Sony Firmware update page for Mac: https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/swu-download.pl?mdl=ILCE7RM3&upd_id=11366&os_group_id=3

Hey, I'm upgrading from the A7s to the A7sii for the low budget commercial/short films that can't afford to rent. This means I rarely do long takes. Looking through the forums these camera's do have an overheating problem. I do have a pretty decent kit from my A7s including a dummy battery to V-mount, cage, and Odyssey7Q+. Though I rarely used my old A7s for 4k since I don't exactly trust HDMI, i've never had an overheating issue with it. It seems like using external batteries, pulling the screen off the back, and the v3.0 firmware helps with cooling during 4k. But it seems like most tests are on continues takes, not for multiple 1-5min takes. Was wondering what peoples experiences are with non-continues 4k recordings, also if anyone uses a dummy battery does that appear to help with overheating. Best regards
