  1. I own a Sony A57, and love the camera, I purchased the Sony A99, always wanted a full frame, good in low light, love this camera also, except for one major flaw, with my A57, what I saw, using the ovf, is what I got, with the A99, using the EVF, is not what I get, have to guess, if it's to light or to dark, once I look at the finished pic, very frustrating. Am I the only one having this problem ?
  2. When using the EVF, a7rII, and move from an average lite subject to a brightly lite subject the EVF looses color and seems to be gray only. What's going on?
  3. Hi, i have the problem, that in Auto-Mode for Viewfinder/Monitor the Monitor of the camera often change to the EVF if i hold my camera to look at a picture or make some adjustments. The sensor seems to recognize my chest or in other words it is too sensitive. There seems to be no adjustment in the menu to regulate the sensivity but i know there is a trick, which i've read in a post about the Alpha 7MII before i bought it - but now i can't find the solution. Changing from auto to EVF or Monitor ist not the best solution for me. Thanks for help. Torsten
  4. Hi there. I'm sure others will have had this problem but I can't seem to find a solution on the site. If I mount a manual flash and set a low ISO, the EVF doesn't 'gain up' to allow me to compose the shot. I have to raise the ISO substantially to compose the shot and then drop it back down before I take the picture. A certain recipe for 'missing the moment.' Surely there must be a setting that allows the EVF to 'gain up' so you can see you subject, but uses your set ISO setting when the camera takes the picture. It's such an obvious and significant glitch that I'm sure its just a setting on the camera I have not found. What have I missed / not set? Thanks in advance for your help. James.
  5. Hello Sony Alpha Forum, My first post as a brand new newbie. I am in the queue at B & H for a Sony A7R II and my Loxia 50mm F2 is on its way from Japan. So although this first post mentions a potential, emphasis on potential, problem with the new version 2 of the A7R, this is NOT a troll. Please have a look at: diglloyd.com the main blog page. This issue of poor view on the EVF with manual focus lenses (while acquiring focus, if I understand) appeared yesterday Tuesday, August 4, probably late in the evening. Already somebody else has reported that the OP might have set his camera incorrectly. This is major for me. I sold my d800e last year, just before Photokina, and lost over $1500 on what I had paid for it only 2 years earlier. The fundamental reason for this fire sale: poor live view. This was fixed with the d810, but Nikon -by not issuing a firmware update on what I found to be such fundamental a problem- had definitively lost me as a customer. I only use manual focus lenses. So this post is addressed to people who are lucky enough to already have the camera and use manual focus (even better if you use a Loxia) and have their comments. Again this is really major for me, so any answer much appreciated. Frank
  6. Up until today I always believed the 14.4x capability of the Sony EVF was superior to Nikon's LCD live view with a 3x hood loupe. Although the Nikon and hood loop (Zacuto or Hoodman) is a clunky solution the combination is superior in its use for critical focus. https://sonyvnikon.wordpress.com/2015/03/24/the-best-a-man-can-get/
