  1. Many may know the author and many won't; but Gary Friedman writes extensive!! handbooks on how to use the camera's and now he has pre-released the manual for the A6500. Very detailled (600 pages!). Now available as a pre-release - so enlist through: http://www.friedmanarchives.com/ Now I have to start reading
  2. I've got the Nissan Air-1 and Nissan Di700A flash and have used it successfully on both my A7R Mark II and A6300 cameras. However, I've just upgraded the A6300 to an A6500 and now find that I cannot use the "wireless flash" setting on the camera. Has anyone else found a way to do this? Is a firmware update needed for the Air-1?

These shots were testing the 70-200 F2.8 GM with the A6500. The camera/lens combination was able to keep up very well with the bikes, the biggest issue I had was keeping them in the viewfinder due to proximity to the track and their high speed.
  5. Hi All, I'm playing with my new A6500. I can't seem to get remote touch-screen focusing to work in movie mode via Sony Playmemories on an iPad. I'm told that it should work. I have updated the app on both the iPad and the A6500. A6500 firmware rev is 1.00. Touch focus works fine on the camera LCD screen but not remotely via Playmemories. Also, I could not get the Sony PMCA Downloader plugin to work with the Chrome browser on a Mac. There was no plugin for Safari even though the website says it's supported. This is according to the extensions manager built in to Safari, when I search for everything I could think of it says zero results. Any help is appreciated. rob_c
  6. I was playing with my new A6500 and trying the autofocus on flying birds. While the shots aren't that spectacular, the autofocus system proved to be magnificent. Even when a tree partly blocked the view, the camera kept focus on the bird. Great! I really enjoy this camera!
  7. Hello, I am trying to connect my A6500 to my iPhone 6+ / iOS 10.2, but I am not successful. The Bluetooth on my iPhone is on. The Bluetooth settings on my A6500 is on (airplane mode is off). But I cannot find my A6500 (ICLE-6500) name in the list of devices on my iPhone. What did I do wrong? What other settings need I do in addition? Is my A6500 defective? I am able to connect my A6500 to my iPhone using Wi-Fi, but not Bluetooth. Any help in resolving my Bluetooth connection is appreciated. Thank you. :-)
  9. Greetings, I bought a Sony A6500 and shot some 4K Footage in Picture Profile 9. (S-Log3 / S-Gamut3) I imported the footage into Apple's Final Cut X (Ver 10.3.2) as well as Premiere Pro CC. In Final Cut X, I applied the Log Processing for S-Log3/S-Gamut3.cine. However, I find that the quality of my footage is very poor. It's grainy, muddy and lacks detail. It looks nothing like what I've seen on YouTube as samples from the A6500. Any ideas on what the problem might be? I've attached 2 screen grabs. The first one shows more of the FCX window. The second one just shows the footage. Some of the settings that I though would be relevant in the Camera: Menu2 are: Movie/S&Q Motion = Aperture Priority File Format = XAVC S 4K Record Setting = 30p 100M e-Front Curtain Shutter On Steady Shot On Menu1 are: High ISO NR Normal Color Space Adobe RGB ISO 3200 Metering Multi White Balane Auto Priority Set in AWB Standard Picture Effect Off Picture Profile PP9 Thanks in advance for your reply. Regards, Rajnesh
  10. This is the one and only swimming shed like this in Hong Kong, this is my first time be there, enjoy. A6500 with SEL85F14GM<my new lens, love it but too expensive for me, used most of my savings......... Swimmingshed by lawrencef fung
  11. Shot a small video today with my A6500 + Zhiyun Crane-M. Accidentally overexposed a couple of shots in there (mainly skins) so hopefully get used to this setup and not do that in the future. Does anyone know if A6500 have Zebras like a7s? I couldn't find it in the menu (unless I missed it). Any feedback appreciated. Cheers
  12. Hello everyone, I would like to share a couple photos, that I recently took with my new A6500 and Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 + Sigma MC-11 adapter: I´m very happy with this combination, the lens is very sharp IMO and sensor in A6500 does a great job as well.
  13. I bought A6500 for 1 week ago and when i tested it, it has issue with Stabilizer when panning over the straight, i think this problem cause by algorithm Stabilizer on Firmware 1.02, many people had same issue with me and there no fix solution from Sony, i tested A6500 with Tripod but still has issue, no issue when turn off Stabilizer Firmware on 1.02 A6500 with tripod Handheld From other person https://youtu.be/IPrCrJ8rJw4
  14. Has anyone ever seen a diagram of the screen hinge on the 6500/6300 (not sure about the 6K)? I would like to modify the hinge to allow more rotation of the screen. Please reference the attached photo diagram. Basically I would like to confirm if the hinge extension is/isn't the mechanism for turning off the EVF when the screen is slightly pulled out. I understand the screen would be upside down and it most likely wouldn't be able to rotate completely flat but it could be almost enough to verify composition while the camera is facing the operator. Thanks for all the help.
