Hello, I am new the forum and have had my A7ii and 55/f1.8 for about six months. I live in Sierra Leone and these are some of the pics I have taken since I got then. I am happy with the camera and my photos but want to improve and get more out of this wonderful camera. Thanks
  2. Hello, this is my first post on this forum. My name is Elliot, I would like to share a pic I took a few weeks ago here is Sierra Leone. Please feel free to critique it, I am always ready to learn.
  3. Hello, I tried a cheap but well build lens, the Porst 55mm F/1.4 (distributed by the german (?) brand "Porst", made in Japan). At F/5.6 excellent sharp at the alpha 7R, with a to my taste wonderful bokeh at F/1.4 (flower close distance). (first try to upload pictures...)

  6. A few shots from a recent beach session. I brought my A6000 with the Zeiss 55 1.8 and my A7 with the 28mm F2. I'm still waiting on my Zeiss 85mm Batis to ship, but until then I was very happy with this combo for wide and zoom. Used the Nissin di700a flash with the Air Commander for wireless triggering. Any creative feedback would also be appreciated. Always looking for tips to improve. 7. Hi! I have an A7. Ok this is me seeking opinions. I went to best buy today to have a look at this lens; http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FSB799Q?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=AAK72K4OIWDXL Obviously it's a great lens, perfect for what I am looking for (full frame, great for street photography, portraits and bokeh) correct? Of course, it's expensive. So while in the store, one of the employee's showed me his A7, along with a kid of 5 lenses along with adapters he purchased on eBay. Anywhere from a 1.8 50mm cannon, to other random lenses he seems to enjoy, for a total of 200$ What I am trying to decide is, is this $800ish, though exactly what I am looking for, smart? Or do I save 500 or so dollars and buy some cheap adapters and a decent 50mm 1.8 on eBay? Any recommendations are more than welcome !
  8. Thought I'd share one of my favourite pics from a trip I took to Japan a few months ago: A7II + 55mm @ 1/200, f/1.8, 50ISO (Click here or on the image for the flickr link) Each year in Japan between late March and early April, there's a small window where the sakura (cherry blossoms) bloom. During our stay in the old capital of Kyoto, it was forecast to rain heavily not long after the blossoms began to bloom, which is unfortunate since even a modest rain is enough to strip the trees of their flowers. With this is mind, many locals hoping have a glamourous engagement and wedding portrait in front of the blossoms rushed to the many temples around town on the Saturday before the storm. As a result, there were beautifully dressed men and women everywhere -- it was quite the sight! Of all the pictures I took though, this one of a seemingly reflective young woman on a bench outside the Kiyomizu-dera temple was my favourtie. In actual, she was just looking through her handbag for a mirror between posing for a hired photographer, who incidentally, was also shooting on an A7 series camera and the 55mm! I felt a little guilty snapping this over the photographer's shoulder whilst she was reviewing her shots, but I daresay it was worth it! --- My Flickr: http://flickr.com/photos/anderswotzke My Instagram: http://instagram.com/anderswotzke/
  9. This is a posed portrait of a girl I ran into on the street. She kindly moved to the left so I could juxtapose her against the bottle. I love when people are so friendly!
  10. Hi everyone, This is a review I did of that ZA 55 1.8, with plenty images. https://roger-marc.squarespace.com/blog/2015/1/24/sony-sonnar-fe-55mm-18-za-review I hope it helps those who are hesitating about that lens.
  11. Got my new Lense from a local Photostore, its an old Minolta 50 mm MC Macro Rokkor QF 3.5 used with a Xsource Adapter on my A7II. Amazing how sharp this old lense is and how good the Bokeh is. Its built like a tank and the focusring is like butter. You have to boost the contrast in LR but theres no sharpening needed. I got this baby for 70€ :-))
  12. I guess you could call this urban wildlife. I was walking along and I ran into this poor, dirty black cat that was completely unafraid of approaching me. Shot with Sony A7II and 55mm f/1.8 wide open.
