    A7 1/125 iso: 100 f5.6? Shot with the Konica AR Hexanon (late) 28mm f3.5
  5. From the album: A7 + Legacy Lenses

A7 1/60 f8 iso: 2500 + Cokin P linear polarizer This was shot with a late Konica Hexanon AR 28mm f3.5 lens. It was quite dark out at 6AM. I was looking for a nice and compact 28mm with sharp corners. The Konica AR has a very short focal flange distance for an SLR. The lens is a bit slow for some applications, but it is great for landscape; where I usually shoot at f8.
  6. A few shots from a recent beach session. I brought my A6000 with the Zeiss 55 1.8 and my A7 with the 28mm F2. I'm still waiting on my Zeiss 85mm Batis to ship, but until then I was very happy with this combo for wide and zoom. Used the Nissin di700a flash with the Air Commander for wireless triggering. Any creative feedback would also be appreciated. Always looking for tips to improve. 7. Hi all, I received my Sony 28mm f/2 a few weeks ago and I've been really enjoying shooting with this little beast of a lens. Pros: -Very sharp stopped down a bit. -Great compact size -Very light weight -Reasonable price -Includes a hood (unlike some competitors who will go unnamed...) Cons -A little distortion -Could be sharper wide open. I'm finding that it's fantastic for street photography. It didn't quite wow me the way the 55mm f/1.8. It's more of a working man's "just get the job done" lens. The 35mm f/2.8 may have better optics and is lighter, but for the money, the 28mm f/2 is a great deal. Well done Sony! Hopefully, I can scrape the cash together for the 90mm macro. Here are some image samples: (there are dozens in my full review) Click here to read my full review
  8. One of my all time favorite lenses. From tests I've seen online sharper than the 2nd version Leica Elmarit M. It's sharp, but it will not be the sharpness per-se that will win you over. There is something, at least to my eyes, in the way this lens treats the tonal values of an image and the out of focus areas (no, I'm not talking about bokeh, more about the areas that are not "exactly" in focus) that I find extremely captivating. I have serious trouble leaving this one out of my bag. Luckily it is so small that I can tuck it in every small remaining space! Many of them suffers from what, in large format circles in reference to another brand, is called "Schneideritis". Basically the glass will looks full of tiny bubbles (even though these should not be bubbles in the glass, but according to many just spot of antireflective paint coming off the "walls" of the lens). This is my second one and it is clean; my first one, on the other hand, was affected pretty heavily by Schneideritis. Even so, the only thing I noticed with it was a certain propensity to flare more easily, but it was sharp as ever, in fact in my opinion probably ever so slightly sharper than the clean sample I have now.
