  1. Hi, Recently picked up the 100-400 GM didn't want the 200-600 due to size for travelling and the 100-400 seems more versatile for general shooting. Off to Fuerteventure soon and want to try shooting some kite surfing, will it have enough reach or should I add the 1.4x teleconverter ? Anyone use it for sports or wildlife ? Also should I be using a polarising filter if shooting over water ? Thanks.
  2. I found another site that confirmed what you said, it seems I can still assign the focus hold button to eye af and then if I am using a spot focus area pressing the focus hold will override the spot and snap on to the eye. 🙂
  3. Hi, I switched from Canon a while ago but I am struggling to understand and use my A7iii well, I've watched loads of tutorials but still find myself forgetting where stuff is in the menu although I've set some in the FN menu now. I've read most people use the focus hold button on the lens for eye af so I followed this, http://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/support/ilc/eyeaf/en/index.html I also have face/Eye Prty in AF - ON, Subject Detection - Human, Face Dtct Frame Dsp - ON and Animal Eye Display - ON In AF-S when pointing at a face if I push and hold the focus hold button on t

  5. Hi, Switched from Canon a few months back but struggling with Sony's menu and just general shooting compared to my Canon's, watched loads of YT tutorials but still struggle a bit with it. My main interest is astro using a tracking mount using a modded 600D, sold my 6D and all my L series lenses but I've just got another used 6D as I loved it but I will use the the Sony for astro. Got a A7III with the 24mm GM to start with to try some wide field astro but yet to use it for that yet due to Convid ! I then picked up the Sony 35mm Zeiss, Sony 55mm Zeiss and the Sony 90mm Macro as I did s
  6. Hi, I'm after a zoom for my A7III currently only have primes up to 90mm but need more reach. I'll be using it for a bit of everything though anything from my dog running around out on walks, wildlife and some sports (kitesurfing) and I'll probably use the 1.4x teleconverter for the extra reach on the sports and wildlife. Is anyone using this set up for these situations how are you finding it ? I was going to go for a 70-200mm f/4 and maybe the 200-600mm but this will cost me slightly more plus the 200-600 will be much harder to travel with on a plane so I think the 100-400 GM i
