  1. Ok guys, I am going to start by saying I'm on a TINY budget compared with many of you on here. I can only ever dream of owning any of the amazing telephoto lenses I see being talked about. I've had a Sony A6000 for about 3 years now, and have made do with the kit lenses which, to be fair, are pretty impressive for their price. Recently I treated myself to a Sigma 30mm 1.4, which is every bit as good as the reviews suggested it would be. I have attached my Raynox250 to it, and the results are superb, though you do have to crop out the black outer circle caused by its smaller diameter than the lens. I have just looked into the possibility of adding a tele converter to it, but am somewhat taken aback by the cost of them. Getting on for twice the price of the actual lens!!! How is that justifiable? Are there any less pricey options available?
  2. Hello again Pieter. Yes, indeed, the white LRD does blink, as it should. I have tried all the flash settings in the camera, and nothing makes a difference. I'm beginning to think there's a fault with my camera.
  3. Hi once again Pieter. Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I have done as you described, but sadly the shutter speed is still limited to 1/160.
  4. Hi Pieter. For a moment there, I thought you had solved my problem! However, when I go to the camera menu to change flash settings, the high speed option you mention isn't there.
  5. This is a pretty simple question: Is it possible to use high speed flash synch with a Sony A6000? I have a Nissin i40 flash unit, which is SO MUCH better than the pop up flash. It has a high speed synch function, but as far as I can tell, there's no way to set the shutter speed any higher that 160th once the flash is mounted. Am I missing something, or is it just not possible?
  6. Thank you for this. I have the 55-210, and I too am pretty impressed with it. But I really would like something with a longer reach!
  7. I've had my A6000 for a couple of years and have never regretted upgrading from my old Canon Powershot bridge camera - except for the loss of telephoto performance. I keep searching the available tele lenses for the A6000, and always come away realising I'll never be rich enough to afford anything longer than the 55 - 210 kit lens. But then, something cropped up in one of my searches that made me wonder! The Raynox DCR-2025 2.2 convertor. On paper, it looks perfect, giving a huge boost in tele performance with, allegedly, little loss of image quality and at a fraction of the cost of a longer lens. There has to be a catch, surely?! Has anyone got any experience with it? I can find no reviews at all of it in use with Sony Alpha cameras.
  8. Hi. I have just joined this forum having had my A6000 just over a year. I have the 2 kit lenses and am fairly happy with them, but I am itching for a longer zoom and a better macro facility. All the good lenses are WAY outside my price range, but I have been looking at the Tamron 70 - 300 zoom and wondering if this would be a good option. It seems to have pretty good reviews, but has any one used it, and is it any better than the kit zoom?
