  1. I made a repair/cleaning enquiry to a lens technician (http://www.cam-rep.co.uk) and received a quick response. His opinion is balsalm separation, apparently it's the glue breaking down which holds a 'doublet' element together. In other words, beyond economical repair.
  2. I have just received a Tokina 90mm F2.5, but it has a problem inside. Is this fungus? - worth cleaning or should I send it back to the seller?
  3. Voigtlander 20mm - it's all good. Modern lens coatings and a reasonable price Fife Coastal Path by ross garnier, on Flickr
  4. They are excellent lenses, you are lucky to already have a collection. They work very well on the A7 and are a joy to use, all you need is a simple adapter - very cheap. I have 2 - the CY Zeiss 50mm and the 135mm. I would love to own the 21mm but the auction price is £1000-£1200 - That should give you an indication of how highly thought of these lenses still are.
  5. I'm soon to purchase my first macro lens. There is not much info in the legacy forum about macro, can anybody recommend anything?
  6. So, the Voigtlander 20mm for Canon mount. I ordered a commlite adapter and it controls the aperture no problem. This is a decent lens, I am pleased with it. The only problem is that it focuses a good bit past infinity and focus preview is difficult since the aperture only stops down when you press the shutter - so no 'magnify focus' button. For landscape this isn't really a problem, but others it may irritate. The more expensive Nikon version is fully manual. I have taken a few shots last weekend with this lens, they are the most recent shots on my Flickr page if you want a look.
  7. Can anyone help or point me in the direction with the correct tags to add to get lens info showing in Flickr? I'm using all legacy lenses. I've managed to add the tag 'lensModel' which works, but for aperture I can't get anything to show. I've tried Fnumber and aperture, but Flickr ignores it.
  8. You think the commlite adapter would work?
  9. Thanks for taking the time to write that excellent reply! I just received the Voigtlander 20mm today (canon EF mount) and have realised that the aperture control is in-camera only, not manual. Gutted! Like you I mostly shoot landscapes & usually backlit ones, I wold be interested to hear what lens you choose. I'm away to start researching your list.... Thanks again
  10. I'm looking for a prime around 20mm for my A7, what are my options? I have a Canon FD 24mm but would like to go a little wider. I like the native zeiss 21mm but it's out of my price range. Flare resistance is the top priority for this lens Thanks

  12. Hello, Guess I better say hello before I start posting away. I'm from Scotland and do mostly landscape shots with my A7. I like legacy lenses! G
