  1. If you haven’t figured it out already, you do NOT want the Sony in wireless flash mode. Leave it in normal mode. I moved from Nissin flashes which required wireless mode to Godox and learned very quickly that the Godox flashes and strobes were not set up for Sony’s wireless protocol. There is an enormous wealth of Godox info in the Godox users group on Facebook, they would know much more on flash performance. It’s a great resource. https://www.facebook.com/groups/godoxusergroup/
  2. I programmed that function into one of the back controls long ago. at first I tried the AF/AEL button, but keep setting the camera into a different mode. Now i have programmed into the down button on the wheel. I also applied one of those dark dot things the light sensor under the eye cup. that works pretty good most of the time.
  3. Hi Folks. I'm selling my one year old Zeiss Batis 2/25 with Zeiss T* UV filter and wanted to share the link with you. I'm just not using this great lens as I find Most of my wide angle needs covered between the 18mm and 35mm lens I have in my kit. This is a great lens if you're in the market for a wide angle prime. I sold my 16-35 f/4 when I got this lens and never regretted it. http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1473823/0#13907791
  4. Hi Folks - I'm moving up to larger strobes and am selling (2) Nissin Di700's and (1) Air 1 Commander wireless controller. These are in excellent condition and have served me well. I bought these a year ago and have taken very good care of them. I thought I'd offer these as a complete kit to the group first before posting to eBay. These are $550 new, I'm selling for $400, shipping included within the continental US. I'll include my Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce as well. thanks, Marty ps - listed in the Classifieds section here - http://www.sonyalphaforum.com/classifieds/item/75-fs-nissin-di700-dual-flash-and-air-1-kit/
  5. I would buy a Batis 35 f/2.0 in a heartbeat. I have the Batis 25 f/2.0 and the Sony-Zeiss 35 f/2.8 and find myself using the 35 more often than the 25. The 25 is a beautiful lens and yields terrific results, but for street shooting and people in general I prefer the more natural 35mm fov. Walking around the local farmers market the 25 has too much distortion, the 35 is more natural looking. I had a Loxia 50 for a while and loved it's result, but just could not get used to the manual focus. I have no doubt the Loxia 35 is better than the Sony-Zeiss 35 f/2.8, but I really want to take advantage of all the great A7rii auto focus feature, and like others have already said the Sony-Zeiss 35 f/1.4 is huge and expensive. Another option I want to look at is the Sigma 35 f/1.4 art lens with the mc11 adapter. It's less expensive than the Sony 1.4, but it's still large.

  7. There are lots of Sony compatible low profile flash options. My son uses a Bolt, I use Nissin. There are more. Check out B&H or Adorama for current compatible models.
  8. I just applied my lightdim on my A7Rii and it works great! A whole sheet of these things cost under $10, I don't know why you would try a hack for great solution that is so inexpensive.
  9. I believe that's what the "classified" section of the forum is for. good luck with your sale.
  10. At this time, there are enough native E mount lenses where I would avoid an adapted lens unless its exceptionally spectacular. Consider the Zeiss Loxia 21, there are several new Voitlanders, you could even look at the Sony 10-18 E mount for APS cameras. http://briansmith.com/sony-a7r-10-18-e-mount-lens/ I have a Batis 18mm that is amazing. Lots of choices these days, you just need to be prepared to pay the Sony tax that goes with these cameras.
  11. just curious, have you made a decision yet? I'm finding I need/want a 35mm more and more to fill the gap between my Zeiss Batis 2/25mm and Zeiss Loxia 2/50 and can't decide on which of the available options would best meet most of my needs. I love the size of the Loxia line, but am sometimes tripped up with the manual focus. I'm actually considering selling my Loxia 50 and getting the Sony Zeiss 1.8/55 if for nothing else the advantages of auto focus and all the A7Rii features available to it (eye tracking, etc). I've thought about the Sony Zeiss 2.8/35 for the same reasons, small and auto focus and half the price of the Loxia. Ugh, so many choices, but not enough choices?
  12. The third one is really nice, in the first one the subject is beautiful but the oof area looks weird, almost swirly bokah? Is that a characteristic of the Milvus? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
