  1. My full review for the Canon EF 8-15 F/4 mm Fisheye lens and Zen Underwater 100 mm optical glass port is now ready for download at uwpmag.com, this is a free PDF download.
  2. My full review for the A6300 and Ikelite housing are now ready for download ay uwpmag.com. This is a free DPF download.
  3. My full review for the Zeiss 18 mm and Zen Underwater 200 mm optical glass port is now ready for download at uwpmag.com, this is a free PDF download.
  4. You may want to read my review of the Ikelite housing for the A7R II, (A7 II ArS II) in the back issues at uwpmag.com. UW photography is not cheap and the Ikelite housing is a great value v. the aluminum housings. Pages from IkeA7_UwP.pdf
  5. Hi Roby, Yes this is the new Zeiss Batis 18 mm F/2.8 lens. Outstanding image quality.
  6. I used the Zeiss 18mm F/2.8 underwater in the Philippines last month. Both images are shot using Sony A7R II, Zeiss 18mm, Nauticam underwater housing with a ZEN Underwater 200mm optical glass dome port with a Nauticam 20mm port extension and two Inon Z240 strobes. The biggest problem with wide rectilinear lenses underwater is getting a proper port and extension combination for maximum corner sharpness.
  7. From todays dives using the Canon 8-15mm Fisheye zoom, at the 15mm full frame end and the 8mm circular fisheye ends of the lens. Nauticam Housing, Sony A7R II, Canon 8-15mm Fisheye zoom, Metabones adapter, Zen Underwater 100mm port, two Inon Z-240 strobes.
  8. Image taken today, Puerto Galera Philippines, Sony A7R II, Canon 8-15mm Fisheye zoom with Metabones adapter, Nauticam housing, Zen Underwater 100mm dome port, two Inon Z-240 strobes.
  9. My current review for the Sony/Ikelite system is now available at uwpmag.com, the current issue #90 is a FREE PDF download and contains about 3500 words of text and several images.
  10. A favorite among U/W photographers is the Fisheye lens option and for the Sony A7R II, I tested the ALL MANUAL Rokinon 12mm F/2.8 ED AS IF NCS Fisheye for Sony E-mount. I used this lens with the new Ikelite Sony A7R II TTL housing, the up to 2.8 inch universal gear (included with the housing along with a second up to 3.0 inches gear) for focusing the lens using focus peaking, a very short port extension and the Ikelite eight inch dome port. Prior to the dive I set aperture at F/9 and used shutter speed and ISO to control exposure. I also used two Ikelite DS 161 strobes set to TTL along with two dome defusers. I think a smaller diameter port configuration could be supported using perhaps a 140 mm dome port. The eight inch port worked across a wide range of subjects but is not ideal for very CFWA. This lens is also branded as a SamSung and perhaps others, it is quite sharp and works well out of the water for such things as astro photography.
  11. The Photos I posted on down the page were done with the A7R II and FE 90mm macro in a Nauticam housing. This camera is becoming so popular in the U/W photo community that housings have been offered by several manufactures including Nauticam, Ikelite, Aquatica, Subal and others.
  12. Happy New Year to all. The latest issue of Underwater Photography Magazine, UWPMAG.com posted today with my articles on the Sony FE 16-35mm zoom and Ikelite Gamma II flashlight. uwpmag.com is a free PDF downloads, which is loaded with interesting new articles on underwater photography. This article relates to using the Sony FE 16-35 zoom with A7 II and A7r II for underwater photography.
  13. Full frame at 1:1 with a +10 wet closeup lens, It looks something like this mounted on the housing using a flip adapter that allows you to move the lens in and out. This is a Nauticam CMC-1 C/U lens on a Nauticam NA-EM1 housing for Olympus E-M1.
