Hello; I'm Coast, new to the forums

I have bought the above lens

A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging PAID : $749.99

I bought it because it said US, I assumed it was an American copy. I found it was in Japanese, but it did say clearly warranty good in Japan only. It was in this March, The lens was selling everywhere else for $999 (Amazon etc,) but w a 1 yr limited warranty. So I've had these questions for a while maybe the forum can answer  Does this mean we are paying $250 for a 1Yr limited warranty? Or does it mean I got a Hong Kong knockoff ?

I'm happy w the lens it looks good, feels good, works good. It's sharper in the center than the kit, but not by that much. I'm pretty impressed w the kit, its power zoom, auto focus, steady shot, pancake size and pretty sharp. The Zeiss does have noticeable barrel effect @ 16mm and w pixel peeking it does have fall off and purple in the corners, but @ $750 I like it a lot @ $1,000 would not so much

This is my Sony a6000 package bundle I use the Zeiss on I bought it on last cyber monday for $750 @ a Best Buy store. I love my a6000

What got me also was your article "Back in stock Zeiss SEL55F18Z + 3 yr warranty for $777

How much of that $777 is the 3 yr warranty?

Thank you very much________Coast

Dear friends, I am have doubts between two lenses: the 16-70mm f/4 Zeiss E mount and 24-70 f/4 FE mount for Sony a6000, I read that the center of this both lenses is very sharp, but in the corners they have poor sharpness, if I take a 24-70 on my a6000 could I get better corners ? I will be very happy to any link for test or samples for this combination. Thanks an advice.

Don't worry about what you read.

Price, aperture, FL range. Your

needs on those 3 parameters tell

you what to buy. Some lenses are

technically better than others, but

that is of no consequence in terms

of successful photos.

OTOH if you buy the "best" lenses

to acquire bragging rights, avoid

really expensive lenses. If some

influential critic dumps on your

expensive choice, you may be too

ashamed and fall on your sword. I

recommend cheap lenses. Often,

by luck of the draw, they win peer

approval, but should it fail to win

top rankings, you can always say

"It's great for the price" !

Basically, it all depends on WHY

you buy lenses.
