mmmuoi
Hello everyone, I've had my Sony A7 for about a year now and recently it was dropped by my coworker. Everything looked/seemed fine, however I just noticed when I use focus peaking through the viewfinder I can only see small specks of red where its focus peaking, but compared to the back screen its a lot more lit up with the focus peaking highlights. The back screen looks normal and I can see the focus peaking on smaller detailed spots whereas its non-existent in the viewfinder. Could this be from dropping it, or is this normal that the viewfinder looks slightly different from the back screen? Is this something I can send in to Sony to have it fixed? Thanks everyone! Advertisement Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Hi mmmuoi, Take a look here Sony A7 Focus Peaking in Viewfinder Not The Same As Screen. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Username
If it suffers no other ills from the impact, this being the only symptom, maybe the eyepiece focus shifted from impact. The EVF image is the same image as on the monitor, so the setting for peaking level cannot be independently changed. But your clarity of viewing can vary between the EVF and LCD. Check the EVF focus. If the EVF focus is jammed, try pounding the camera on your coworker's skull and mebbe that will free it up !
