problem with my Sony A7II (HELP!!!)

Recommended Posts

Hey Everyone, so im having a problem with my Sony a7II and trying to figure out what is happening. it seems like it could be a light leak but when i shoot it in auto the light streak disappears. i notice this happens when i am shooting manual in bright daylight. iv tried to cover the E-mount with tape but it still appears. here is the link to sample photos. https://imgur.com/tMEpf0s https://imgur.com/VbHiofThttps://imgur.com/0Bf47TZ any help would be awesome. thank you!

Interesting. Looks like it appears always at the same location in the frame. Just a few things that come to my mind:

Are the provided sample shots developed from raw files?

Have you tried a different lens?

Does the problem also appear in P, A or S mode?

Did you expose your camera to heat or sunlight for a longer time?

How does a dark frame (lens cap on) look?

hey!, and yes the samples are in RAW format.

i haven't tried another lens, i do have other e-mount lenses but not Full Frame. will try them after this post.

yes the problem appears in the other modes. (P,A and S)

and when i keep the cap on it disappears. so i don't think it could be a light leak from the e-mount.

So anyways. Maybe you need a lens hood. It sounds simular to my problem when focusing and something is blocking my view. It appears to not be there but once I snap that button it is in plain sight.

You want the sun rays in your picture??
