An apples to oranges system test 810 + Otus 55mm v A7r + FE55

Recommended Posts

So, an older, £1998 (£1299+£699) system, performs to within 79% of a newer, £5256 (£2347+£2909) system. That must mean the Sony is 207%* better than Nikon.

*263% cheaper while providing 79% of the "performance". 79% because only the MF Test1 should be counted, making it 21% not 24% behind the Nikon.

Sorry to feed the troll. In fact I don't disagree with his findings and his commitment is impressive. Just wanted to show the value of reducing such things to numerical figures with my own version of pseudoscience :-)

What the numbers show is that all the gear under test,

regardless of the sloppiness of the tests, regardless of

the twisted agendas of the "reporters" ... all the gear is

wholey inadequate, poorly performing, overpriced junk.

All of it is so hopeless that matters of 20% performance

differences are meaningless. Dynamic range, AF speed

and sensitivity, resolution, noise and sensitivity cannot

hold a candle to images from my wearable system, and

that doesn't even mention ergonomics, where wearable

gear reigns supreme.

Perzonally, if there's one little gnat in the ointment, the

drivers provided for my gear do not seem happy under

Windows 14. Maybe I'll just back up to Win 12 ....
