A7RIII magnify focus point trouble

Has anyone proven this function?  I'm running the latest firmware update.  The setting is in the playback menu.  When set to magnify focus point I find that the function does not work.  I move a small focus square off center, focus, hold and recompose, then look at the magnified image in replay.  The magnification is always center screen.

Sorry, but mine does as expected. Tested just now with the focus point near the the upper left and when viewing with magnification it jumps to that position.
