A7ii still revalent today in 2017

Recommended Posts

I am interested in going to full frame mirrorless. The a7ii has such a great price point right now. I shoot portraits and at Time my kids in sports(I realize not the best choice but I make an canonnm3 work for sports). Or should I just get the A7rii? Just wondering if anyone still uses the a7ii at all. I use tons of vintage on my canon mirrorless and this is one of the reasons I am dumping my dslr’s. And going all into the mirrorless. Thanks for any advice in advance!

Show me a "more relevant" camera for

about $1600. The other two contenders

are SLRs. Since relevance is the theme

here, SLRs are lesser contenders, less

relevant every day gone by.

Sony is the only FF Live View system

anyway, so the only alternatives are the

other Sony a7 types. The a7-II is simply

the basic model, least costly, but when

would simplicity reduce relevance ?

Of all a7 type Sonys, observations of

forum postings tell me the users of the

basic a7-II are the most satisfied with

their camera. Price does affect users'

expectations. Users of the 'R' and 'S'

versions are a complaining bunch, cuz

they fail to realize that they are using a

$1600 camera with an enlarged pixel

count [or enlarged photo sites] and an

enlarged price tag to go with that. They

expect their cameras to be a lot closer

to perfection than one can reasonably

expect of a $1600 camera.

Only the a9 appears to be an actually

different model. For the price it damnt

well better be ! So, choose between

the 9 and the a7-II. Both are the basic

versions of themselves. Ignore the two

"boosted" versions of the a7 series as

nothing more than hot rodded versions,

boy racer machines, high performance

boy toys. The a7-II is just a "boring old

daily driver" ... the most relevant thing

on wheels tho not the most exciting.
