A7ii time lapse app

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am trying to buy and download the time lapse app to my camera A7ii

but Sony's site will not allow me to do it -- it does not support my country, it says.

I don't understand why Sony make things so difficult.

Anybody can help me with this nonsense?

Is there another way to buy & download the time lapse application?

I use TriggerTrap to get round the Sony app issue (I seem to recall that on the A7s I couldn't use the silent shutter so I looked elsewhere for a solution). The app is free (there is also a paid one) but you do need the cable and "trigger" unit (cheap). Works well.

The app requires the cable. Have a look at triggertrap.com - in my (albeit limited) experience they are happy to help! The app itself gives an indication of what's possible in terms of triggering the shutter.

I second the TriggerTrap suggestion. You must have the cable and dongle to work. However, it is rock solid. I find the Time-lapse app to be a complete pain. It crashes on me about 1 out of 5 times I use it. I have stopped using it.

As a side note, TriggerTrap is a very useful all around app. Check out us shooting water balloons using TriggerTrap gear here. https://youtu.be/FbvmEE3azCA

You can use the Sony Remote Camera Control software that come with the camera.

This is made for begineers. But better than using WiFI, NFC or cell phone.

Or buy a better pro software, ATG Remote Camera Control Kim X3 (provides hybrid live-views, adjust stills & videos).

If you are not a pro, don't ask for ATG. It's not cheap.

Both have time lapse shooting.

ATG also have special battery packs for extended /or extreme conditon shooting.

You will need more power which Sony doesn't make.
