Cage's for Sony Alpha(S,R,II,7)

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at buying a cage to protect my A7s but also allow me more flexibility with mounting microphones, quick release plates and a follow focus etc. But most importantly its to protect the I/O ports on the side when cables are attached. Ive heard the HDMI port is fragile.

I've heard the Movcam isnt the best but it was from a salesman. Please let me know if you use a cage and like it. Thanks

I´ve got a sony a7s and got this cage, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1124032-REG/ikan_es_t16_basic_rig_for_sony.html It's a Ikan cage.

For me this is the perfect cage for the a7s. it fits like a glove, got a Hdmi protector, monitor mount, lots of places to put a magic arm, two hotshoe, rod attachment, metabones adapter support and a top handle. Only thing that I don´t like with it is that the on/off switch is a bit hard to reach if you got a bit bigger fingers. And if you use your included strap a lot, this might not be what you want, since there is no way of having a strap on the camera since it is protected in the cage.
