Needs to be either less confusing or more mysterious.

As it is, no mystery but a lack of clarity. More mystery

[and abstraction ?]  would eliminate any expectation

of clarity.

This is NOT low key. It's just dark. Low key is based

on dark-on-dark tonality. If she were very black, then

you'd have a shot at low key. It's also low in contrast.

Low key is usually higher contrast, to dig out some of

the tonal scale hiding in the dark areas.

I like it. The composition is very balanced and I particularly like the negative space for the raised arm.

I think there are many options for processing this shot. I think the face could use a bit more contrast to give it a three dimensional feel. The nirvana print could be brought down with a gradual shading from the bottom.

i also think it would look great in a high contast black and white version.

In terms of the raw capture, it's really good. In terms of processing there is still room to bring it up a notch.

Sorry for the confusion :) Never tried low key so didn't relly know what it is.

The bright white letters are quite disturbing and add nothing to the image.

Personal taste, I like them :)

Thanks ! actually this is a mid day slightly under exposed shot I tried to save in Lightroom.

The original is darker on the model and way brighter on the background so anything else I tried to do didn't quite work for me :)

Thanks everyone &

Best regard from Israel,

Nate.

Cool. I don't know if you have access to Photoshop? In PS, it's quite simple to build up layers and masks to bring up under-exposed parts and mask out the background. I always use it when I need to change a photo from the capture. Anyway, you've got great compositiinal skills and the processing idea was right. Learning processing is much simpler than that.
