Sony Alpha 9 ARW compatibility issues

Hi everyone,

 

I'm having some compatibility issues with Sony Alpha 9 ARW raw files, using a Mac OS X 10.9.5 operating system and Adobe Photoshop CS6 and its Adobe Camera RAW converter. But it doesn't recognize this raw file format.

 

I tried converting the ARW files to DNG files with Adobe DNG converter. However, the most recent version of the Adobe DNG converter version 9.12.1 (which is supposed to be able to deal with Sony Alpha 9's ARW files?) doesn't run on Max OS X 10.9.5.

 

Of course, it would be possible to convert ARW to DNG on a Windows system and then process them with Photoshop on a Mac. But this solution would be quite complicated.

 

How do users of older Mac OS X versions and older Photoshop versions deal with Sony Alpha 9 ARW files?

You are using quite an old OS (3 years old). What do you expect?

 

If that is any consolation for you: Sony A9 ARW files are easily read by Capture One Express and Pro 10.2.1 under OSX 10.13.1.
