Hi

I am a newby to this site and to Sony cameras in general.

A brief history:

I have shot Olympus 4/3 for many years, but recently had an unfortunate accident with my em1 - it got blown off a cliff whilst I was taking some coastal shots.

Needless to say the camera, lens and tripod are ruined, Olympus are very well built, but there are limits it seems.

So a replacement is required, and I am looking seriously at the A7RII.

I take mostly landscapes, so the ff sensor appeals, and I enjoy hiking so a smaller camera format is a must, sorry Canikon.

So my question:

Looking at the lens options, the FE28-70mm f/3.5-5.6OSS gets very good reviews, and at f8 seems to be as good as the 24-70 f/4 Tessar, at 1/3 the price.

Do any of you use this lens and if so what are your thoughts of it, especially compared to the 24-70 f/4?

I am also looking at primes, and there seem to be some very interesting 3rd party ones out there.

Has anyone had experience with these, good or bad?

Thanks in anticipation

Guy
