70-400mm a-mount v. 100-400mm e-mount on vice versa bodies?

I just want to know as many people have been dropping there a-mount lens for the recent e-mount release. In my opinion I just do not know why. So I would love to know what is all the hub bub is about asides for a slightly smaller lens and another variant of lens hood?

I already have a suspicions but  the reviews have not been really saying anything at all...... Asides to go for the 100-400....

No vice versa. It's a one-way street,

A-mount lens goes on e-mount body.

Unless acoarst you're implying that

a few geeks find the E-mount lens to

be so irresistible that they'll also buy

an e-mount body to put it on :-)

On second thought mebbe you mean

that many of the A-mount versions in

use are already mounted by adapter

onto e-mount bodies ? Izzat the deal ?

I've just bought the new 100-400mm e-mount lens to use on two bodies, a6500 and a7rII (at the moment, but I'm looking into the new a9), to replace the a-mount 70-400 + LA-EA3, mainly for a couple of reasons, the most relevant is the loss of the new AF features like the Lock-on expandable spot, or the Expandable spot AF modes, and that is quite inexplicable to me, since all apt the components are from Sony itself... the second reasons is the quite slow AF acquisition time in particular with the FF a7rII. I'm a nature photographer mainly devoted to birds and mammals, where a very fast AF is vital; I've planned to make a more consistent test in near future, but you can believe me that with the new e-mount lens the AF in both bodies is pretty damn fast, absolutely not comparable with the previous setup. In the next few days I'm going to receive the 1.4x TC and I'm really curious to test also that piece of gear.

Hope this could help.
