Why is 'Lock-on expand flexible' spot greyed out?

Recommended Posts

Hello,  :)

My question relates to the Sony a6500. I've searched google and youtube but can't find an answer.

For some reason I can't get 'Lock-on AF: Expandable spot' to work while in video mode. It's just greyed out.

When I try selecting it, it says this function is not available in manual shooting mode. So I tried the other modes (eg. shutter priority and aperture priority) but the same happened.

Any help with this would be so much appreciated. It's driving me crazy.

Thanks in advance.

Try the green auto or the gold Superior Auto.

Try the green auto or the gold Superior Auto option on the dial.

Check out Gary Friedman's videos on youtube. They'll walk you through Sony's AF system; including its limitations, which is normal.
