Same adapter. MC and MD (and SR) lenses had the same dimensions. They just had different mechanics for aperture control. This is irrelevant when adapting.

The 50/1.4 is a good lens to use with an extender, due to its sharpness and appropriate focal length. That also smoothens out the bokeh, although it's not bad to begin with. That's how I use it.

 

The 55/1.7 was mass-produced. I would give it a miss and look for the 58/1.4 or the 45/2 instead. They are much better and have character that set them apart.
