Adapter for Rokinon 80-200mm 1:4.5 for a6000

Recommended Posts

It's a trashy lens and hardly the reason

people buy adapters. Not totally 100%

useless ... but if someone is asking you

to pay money for it, shun that person.

If you found it at the dump, don't get

too excited about your find. Adapters

cost more than the lens is worth.

As for WHICH adapter ? Impossible to

say. Read up on the basics before you

consider using non-native lenses. Then

you will ask more useful questions. It's

great that manual operating interests

you, but it's a bit too early yet.

What is the correct adapter for the a6000 for the Rokinon 80-200mm 1:4.5 lense, manual mode

What's the quality of this lens and how well does it work inmanual focus

Username is correct that these optics aren't worth spending time or money on. If you are interested in a manual lens of this type, I would suggest looking for a Minolta MD 70-210mm f4 lens. It has very good IQ and was in fact so good in its day that it was rebranded as a Leica lens.

It's quite a difficult lens to use in terms of achieving steady and focused images. So, you have to expect to do some practice before you start nailing the shots.

For this reason, if you are looking for a usable telezoom, you could save your time and go for the Sony 55-210. It has AF, OSS and if you buy it used won't cost much more than a vintage lens with adapter.

The lens is one I found at a yard sale for $4.99.  Took the gamble.  I do play around with vintage lenses, mainly Nikon and Minolta primes.  If I see something interesting i will Google it before purchasing.  Didn't have my phone this time.

Don't worry, I have a whole box of this type lenses. I buy attic-found camera sets and they often contain these cheap lenses along with some gem. I keep them because it's too muh trouble selling and I could never throw away a lens.

Reminds me of my bro Nick. If he's gonna throw anything out

he gives us advance notice, so we can show up to cheer him

on, and maybe shoot some documentary of the rare event :-)

Well, I am not a hoarder. I just think every lens is special and should be preserved for future generations. Even the crap ones. Future generations deserve that too ;)
