SDeGat
I know that I can lock the dials/wheels but how about locking one of the wheels? (Not both) Is that possible? I use this on my Nikon while in the studio for example to make sure I don't mess up my flash sync speed without noticing.
Advertisement Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Hi SDeGat, Take a look here Locking Aperture or Shutter: possible?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Username
Works like that on some of my Sonys, but ATM I'm not sure which. IIRC, the choice concerning the lock is "all dials" or "wheel only" ... meaning the back panel wheel. So, on a suitable Sony, assign the rear wheel to handle the parameter you wish to lock. If this does not work that way on your Sony, you have the wrong model. But, you can easily take care of that ... just throw money at it. Good luck, and good bye. Guest all8
Hi, I don't believe its possible to lock the wheels, however, IIRC it is possible to lock the buttons on the rear of the camera, and perhaps that also include the wheels? As an alternative, which may or may not be suitable, you could take advantage of the AEL function. That will lock the current exposure settings (shutter, iso and aperture), it may not be perfect, however it still might be useful for you. I quite often use both the AEL or the AEF function, and find it useful. Regards, Tim.
