Sorry if I can't have the right answer.

The main physical problem will be whether the back element of the macro lens don't touch the front lens of the converter. Some converters have their front group protruding to fit inside the body of the tele or zoom lens.

Otherwise, there is no way to learn about the quality of the resulting combo than using it yourself. It is expected that the quality will be somewhat degraded. However, I bet it will be much better than to use your macro with an extension tube. There are many extension tubes on the market, easy gadgets to sell to unadvised amateurs. The new lens design using floating element(s) (in every new macro lens) make these lenses unusable with extension tubes, unless you accept lensbabylike soft edges caused by strong field curvature. With all the limitations it might have, we can expect that a tele-converter maintain a fair field flatness at least.

There are usually generic teleconverters from third pary manufacturers. I believe Kenko has a x1.4 converter for A-Mount for about $100. It may be worth a shot.
