Pidgeon shot is lovely man. Kicking points with that one, rest are beautiful too.

Hey is this lens your using the minolta "beer can" as they call it just wondering?

I have a minolta 70-210 & a m/f 50 1.7 that im going to dismantle and clean one day, i havent used them before. I can adapt it it looks like, hmm.

Hey could you explain how you manage to get your beautiful photos uploaded so sharp without all the compression/artefacts etc? Im doing something wrong i think in resizing mine, if its no trouble, thank you & thanks for posting.

thx

its not the beercan or at least i think you mean this one http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/Minolta-AF-70-210mm-F4-%28beercan%29_lens48.html

I could have bought that one too, but its much heavier then the apo 100-300mm

In lightroom i´m always trying not to sharpen the pictures (lightroom detects some kind of sharpening by itself, depending on the lense, i never touch that) Also don´t overdose the clarity and not too much luminance when you used high iso

when you are exporting your pictures in lightroom for facebook or forums resize your images: check sharpening for screen (don´t check this if you have not croped your image or changed the size)in the export dialogue of lightroom

for forums use size 1200px on the longes side, for facebook 2048 px on the longest side<-this is the most important part for web

Heres a picture of me using the apo with my new monopod, i can also recommend using one, the apo is not heavy but you can hold it even much longer still

Its this cheap one by amazon basics, only 18€ http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00FAYL1YU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00

I dont use hardly any sharpening either on my images and dont edit much at all except for a smidge of contrast or saturation etc on occasion and sometimes brighten or highlight clip a little etc but i try to shoot properly and leave them alone, im using just the sony raw converter even though i have full adobe suite cs5.1 dng converter i just cant be bothered unless its something special etc.

Im using preview on a mac to downsize output of jpegs from sony raw converter to 30cmx20cm @ 350 res [scale proportionate/resample ticked] thats where im probably going wrong i think, i have a free version of capture 1 and lr trial, so maybe i will try those instead.

Love the minolta combo results you posted, looking really good!

I must get an adapter one day and try the 2 ive got.

Thing is got sony fe 70-200 anyway and im liking that.

have a monopod

But i also use sometimes this great old tripod i found dumped on nature strip about 8 yrs ago, its a beauty for portability, the legs are telescopic they pull out etc. Its quite old.

Its a beautiful precise bit of engineering. Brass legs. It was finding this tripod that triggered me to get back into photography funny enough.

mob ph image lol :-]

the two minoltas, the 50 1.7 ive dismantled completely and cleaned it once already it was filthy but no fungus, just sand dust and dirt etc, seems ok now but might go over it again anyway, still some dust in there.
