A7 Series camera questions about weather seal

Good Afternoon everyone, hope everyone is doing well.

I am coming to the forum today to get owners opinions. I purchased an a6k earlier this year and absolutely love it, as far as compact cameras or cameras in general it's one of my favorites I have ever owned. I have been historically a Nikon shooter, but I am looking to upgrade to a full frame system. I have had my heart set on the A7r ii for quite some time now, but the closer I got to having enough to buy it the more I am hearing about people having major issues, such as shooting in humid environments and having internals corrode and Sony not wanting to fix it, and similar things of that nature.

So my question here is, has anyone run into any of these kind of issues? I still want the A7r ii but not if it is going to have to be a bag queen that needs to babied constantly.

Let me know what everyone thinks and restore my desire for the A7 r ii or iii if that has been announced by the time I have the money saved up.

Thank you in advance!

Matt

I really think that most people who own it, as I do, think it's the best body they've ever shot..I never read complaints about shooting in humid environments.

hell, I live in Seattle, it's very very wet here...No issues so far, although, I haven't owned it long...Get one now with the trade in program and save a ton of $

you can get a new one for $2400...to me, that's a great deal.

  • 2 weeks later...

My A7rii had problems with the screen after getting damp (not wet). A day in the house fixed it but I don't have much confidence in the weather sealing. I may have been spoiled coming from Pentax; Penta weather sealing is superb and means you can happily shoot in any weather without worrying about it. Sony weather selling has been my biggest (probably only) disappointment with the system.
