Phenomenon313
Hello All, I purchased a Sigma 18-35MM Art Lens for my wife's Sony A77. I noticed that the lens isn't recognized, and I am receiving the Check Lens error. I had bought it used and returned it online purchasing a brand new one from Sigma. The new lens has the exact same symptoms!! When the camera turns on, the lens makes a clicking noise and is not recognized by the camera. I have placed it onto an A65, A77 and A99 with the same result. I found an official release from Sigma regarding other lenses having compatibility issues with the higher SLT Alphas (http://www.sigma-photo.co.jp/english/news/info_111014.htm), but after bringing this up to a Sigma expert, I was told that this notice doesn't exist. Any help is greatly welcome! Thanks Dennis All other lenses from my Minoltas Tamrons Rokinons and native Sonys work fine.

Golem
Return it and forget it. No single item is so important to any outfit as to be worth putting one self thru the wringer. There are other options. The specs do vary from option to option ... but an "option" that comes with grief is not a real option, so its specs are just fantasy. Go with reality. It's out there, somewhere ! `
IanL
It's not that it doesn't exist, but that it it does not apply. It only applies to the cameras and lenses listed. Lenses released after that time (quite long ago) already have the fix built-in. Try cleaning the body and lens electrical contacts with iso-propyl alcohol. Austerror
So the second lens was sourced from a different vendor?
