White balance woes

I have found that when there is a large amount of white in a image , ie white building or wall that the auto white balance creates a very blue cast, is this just my A7r2 or do they all do it?

it's not a major issue auto wb in lr fixes the raws or jpegs as does c1 but it's something I never had with Pentax bodies.

WB is a software evaluation, so its not your camera specifically, just how the camera works. You get a similar problem in snow.  However to illustraite how difficult it can be, I find my A7 to do a good job with Sunsets ... but C1 has _no_ idea how to handle that.

I'm looking into one of those expodisks, from what I have read, they solve the problem. Possibly even a defuse filter would work, simply some frosted glass?

Much depends on the small percentage of the contents

that is NOT white or neutral. If tests with toadally neutral

frame contents still show a blue bias, just tweak the WB

in setup on the amber-blue axis. This governs ALL other

variables as to modes, manual or auto WB, custom WB

etc etc. It rebalances the entire camera.
