Everett Robinson
I've been using an Alpha 300 dslr for several years and would now like to be able to use with a set of studio strobe lights. Found an adapter (Vello HSA-CSC) that fits on the camera's hot shoe to connect a PC cord used to trigger the strobe lights, but the camera is not seeing the adapter connection and activates the on-camera flash instead. I've searched the camera's manual, but could not find any menu settings that seem to apply to this situation. So I'm asking the Alpha community for their suggestions…
Advertisement Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Hi Everett Robinson, Take a look here Studio Lights with Alpha 300. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Dollanganger
The A300 has the older Minolta style flash mount. Alphas now use a universal mount. When I tried several different adapters for my A55. NONE worked. I had to special order the Sony brand adapter from www.store.sony.com The only place that sells it. It's the same price as the others. It works great! The A300 is a much older model so I cannot say for sure that it will work.
