A7r sensor/firmware issue?

Recently purchased an A7r (2nd hand). After buying, 1st thing I did was update the firmware (from ver 1.01 to 3.2) next day, took it out for some test shots and the results are concerning - any photo taken in direct/indirect sunlight, comes out with max warmth. All settings have been checked - white balance/creative settings/etc and are correct. Same results w/ different lenses. When the photos are loaded into Lr, the temp is maxed at 50000 under white balance. I can change the wb from "as shot" to "auto" and correct it in post, but would much rather not have the extra step and have my camera read the color correctly. I'd like to avoid sending it to Sony, so I wanted to see if anyone has had similar issues w/ an A7 series. The previous owner had been more than willing to help and says he never had this problem before. If that's the case, might it have been the firmware update? Any insight would be very much appreciated!
