A6000 autofocous problem

Recommended Posts

Hello

I bought the a6000 primerly because of al the good things i've heard about the autofocous system.

I use it mainly to shoot fast moving things.

But after trying all the settings i saw on the internet about making it fast focous/lock focous and what not. It still doesn't stay focoused on my subject when i take continious photos.

I use a 16mm pancake lens

Drive mode is continious

Focus mode is continious AF

Focus area is wide

Lock on AF is on with shutter

Pre AF is on

Af with shutter is on

Face detection is on

What am i missing?

Can it be that this specific lens just doesnt support continious AF while you keep pressing the shutter?

Need help since i need this to work for my work asap.

Thanks

You might not be missing anything. I haven't used the 16mm lens, so I can't give my experience with it. However, some lenses that I've used, like the Sigma 60mm lens, just don't keep up with action shots.

One thing you could try is instead of using Focus area Wide, use Focus area Flexible Spot with a Small area or Medium area. I keep the Face Detection off if the action shots do not have people as the subject.
