A7rii exposure comp dial not working

Hi,

 

I noticed the exposure comp dial on my A7rii is not responding at all.

I recently got it back from fixing another mechanically faulty button.

 

Right now i'm turning the dial on top and nothing happens. If I go in to 

the menu and change exposure comp then it works fine.

 

Is there anything i'm missing, like a menu setting that has to be changed

to activate to top +- comp dial? This is driving me nuts.

Sometimes it's the most obvious that we overlook - you haven't got the camera set to manual have you?

I tried all modes (M, A, S, P) and Auto ISO. I can assign the exposure compensation to the back and front rubber dials, but the top 

dial does absolutely nothing. I've gone through the whole menu a million times and this is the closest I've come....

I have found the dail button responds when you set the ISO into auto mode. So I assume it is ISO dependent???

I would try a camera reset and see if that doesn't return expected function.

Toggle “live view finder” on in your settings. You’ll most likely see your exposure comp. Working again.  It’s probably still working you just can’t see it until after you take the picture. But seeing it work on your display requires live view finder to be on.

Anybody have a solution? Tried all of the above, but alas to no avail. Also got it back after faulty buttons. (but not the dial)
