A5?

Over the last year I have migrated from APS-C to FF, but there is one camera I miss from Sony's FF lineup and that is a FF version of the A5000/A5100. Articulated screen, no EVF with IBIS and reasonably priced. Here in Norway the A7II is about the same prive as the A6500 so why not offer a really compact FF camera?

Does anyone think there would be a market for an A5?

This seems to be a major issue for many people. The fantastic monitor screen on the A77 and A99 models should have been included on the A7 series!

The screens on the first versions of the NEX models and A33, A55, A57 models were beloved by all. I have no idea why Sony stopped making these and only made improvements on the A77 and A99.

To my knowledge there is no work around for this for the A7. The only option is to invest in a separate display monitor connected to the A7 via micro HDMI. But those are large and really really pricey!

Well said! I'm actually thinking of picking up an A99 (or an A77 mk II) just for that! I shoot often enough in uncomfortable positions (landscapes) that the expense might be justified just for that articulated LCD alone...

Maybe Sony feels the problem is solved by technology

thaz newer than the old school approach of having a fully

articulated rear monitor. You don't need a big expensive

HDMI set up ... just your smart phone. A tethered phone

is a verrrrry fully articulated monitor panel, complete with

touch screen and remote release.

Just thinking out loud. I don't even have a smart phone ....

I presume you're referring to the Play Memories Mobile app? The only problem I've had using it as a remote is that it always shoots in Auto. Auto everything, regardless of what the camera is set to.
